[Also in Division A1] Apparatus for use in treating growing plants comprises a mobile heater unit including a heater 1, a tank 3 for liquid fuel, and a burner and a combustion chamber (not shown), the exhaust gases passing into a cooling tube 4, having openings 4a to atmosphere. Ammonia solution is contained in a storage tank 8 and is conveyed by a pump and valve located in container 9 to an injector valve 11 situated in tube 4 adjacent the heater 1 so that non-carbonaceous acidic components of the exhaust gases are neutralized.
