Abstract
1,025,670. Buildings. H. KRANTZ VENVALTUNGS G.m.b.H., [trading as H. KRANTZ]. March 12, 1965 [March 14, 1964], No. 10676/65. Addition to 1,025,669. Heading F2A. A bearing having half-shells of sintered carbon held within a metallic ring as described in the parent Specification, wherein the halfshells 1, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), have slightly tapering bearing faces which rotatably engage a tapering bush 12 that is axially adjustable on a shaft 9 so as to compensate for wear. The tapering bush 12, wh<SP>4</SP>ch may be axially split, has a split head portion 13, which is clamped on to the shaft 9 by screws 14. The ring 2 may be located in a bearing box 11 by keys 15 or may have tapered faces 16, 17 thereon and be clamped into the box by a thrust-ring 19 and screws 18. The box 11 may have a cylindrical extension 20 which is received in a box of a support to allow tilting and thus self-aligning of the bearing.
