Compounds of the general formula <FORM:1024818/C3/1> in which R1, R2 and R5 represent hydrogen atoms or alkyl radicals or the radicals R1 and R3 may be alkylene radicals connected together directly or through a hetero atom and R4 and R5 are alkyl radicals or alkylene radicals connected together directly or through a hetero atom to form an alicyclic or heterocyclic ring which in the case of a piperazino ring may be substituted in the 4-position by a radical of formula <FORM:1024818/C3/2> are used as age resistors for natural and synthetic rubber. They may be used for example for protecting butadiene-styrene and butadiene-acrylonitrile polymers and may be used for protecting the crude rubbers and the vulcanizates.ALSO:The invention comprises compounds of the general formula <FORM:1024818/C2/1> in which R1, R2 and R3 represent hydrogen atoms or alkyl radicals or the radicals R1 and R3 may be alkylene radicals connected together directly or through a hetero atom to form an alicyclic or heterocyclic ring; R4 and R5 represent alkyl radicals or alkylene radicals connected together directly or through a hetero atom to form an alicyclic or heterocyclic ring, which in the case of a piperazino ring may be substituted in the 4-position by a radical of formula <FORM:1024818/C2/2> The new compounds may be prepared by reacting an enamine of general formula <FORM:1024818/C2/3> with p-benzoquinone having no substituents in the 2- and 3-positions at a temperature of 0-80 DEG C.
