Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of general formula: <FORM:0957230/C2/1> in which A is an alkylene radical containing more than two carbon atoms, X is a sulphur atom or an ethylene or ethenylene group, and OR is an alkoxy group, and the corresponding derivatives substituted by one or more alkyl or halogeno substituents in the side ring(s); and their preparation by reacting a ketone (which may be correspondingly substituted) of formula: <FORM:0957230/C2/2> with an organo-metal compound containing the radical -A-OR, and hydrolysing the reaction product.
