Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the general formula: <FORM:0966060/C1/1> wherein Alk is an alkylene radical containing 1 to 5 carbon atoms and Z is a dialkylamino, di(hydroxyalkyl) amino, pyrrolidino, piperidino or piperazino radical and wherein the alkyl radical (where Z is a dialkylamino radical) and the hydroxyalkyl radicals contain from 1 to 6 carbon atoms and non-toxic acid addition salts thereof. These compounds are obtained by mixing 3b -hydroxy pregn-5-en-20-one with an acylating agent Z1-Alk-CO-Y (wherein Z1 = Z) and in addition a halogen atom and Y is a cleavable halogen atom or an alkoxy or substituted alkanoyloxy radical to produce a compound of the formula: <FORM:0966060/C1/2> followed by, when Z1 is a halogen atom, mixing with at least one equivalent of an amine of the formula Z-H.
