Abstract
1,023,516. Textile treating apparatus. WERNER STOCKHAUSEN [trading as MINHORST & SCHULTES]. May 13, 1963, No. 18915/63. Heading D1L. Apparatus for continuously treating fabric in long webs in liquid treatment media comprises a crushing unit which consists of at least two superimposed vertically movable rolls and is disposed on one wall of a liquid treating tank, and guide rollers for the web near the wall situated opposite the wall containing the crushing rolls. In the arrangement shown web 3 is led into tank 1 over the uppermost of four crushing rolls 2 and then passes through the three crushing gaps between the rolls. After the web leaves the bottom roll 2 it is guided around the outer pair of guide rolls 4 and back to the top crushing gap between rolls 2 via temple 5 for holding the fabric to its full width. The web is repeatedly fed from the bottom roll 2 to the first gap between rolls 2 by way of additional rolls 4 until the last pair but one is occupied. The fabric is then led out of the tank via reversing roll 6 and is taken up by roll 8. The latter may be driven through at a peripheral speed slightly greater than that of rolls 2 so as to maintain the web in tension and there may be a slipping clutch in the drive to prevent over tensioning.
