[Also in Division D1] Apparatus for treating an advancing film web or sheet with a liquid comprises a tank, at least one driven roller 16 mounted above the intended liquid level 12, and at least one guide member 18 movable between a first position below the intended liquid level (Fig. 1, not shown) and a second position in which at least a portion of its length is above the intended liquid level. In Fig. 2, bar 18 is hinged at 22 to framework 14 and is raised partially out of the liquid by handle 28, and secured in the second position by means of peg 32 and hook 30. A web may thus be threaded over rollers 16 and under bars 18 without passing through the liquid.
