Abstract
1,022,124. Pipe joints. KOPPERS CO. Inc. Oct. 11, 1962 [Nov. 16, 1961], No. 38620/62. Heading F2G. [Also in Division F4] The barrel of an oxygen lance is secured to a holder by clamps on the holder engaging lugs on the barrel, Fig. 6, not shown. The lance barrel 117 has coaxial inner tubes 160, 162, the inmost tube 160 extending into the neck 114 of the barrel and engaging seal rings 166. The intermediate tube 162 is fixed to a member 163 threaded into a flange 115 dividing the length of the barrel interior. The shell 117 of the barrel is sealed to the holder 116 by a gasket 167, and spacers 165, 168 maintain a coolant passage between the sleeves 160, 162 and the barrel 117. A fuel-oxygen lance has three coaxial inner sleeves, the interior of the holder being divided into three parts, Fig. 8, (not shown.)
