Abstract

A refractory alloy consists of Al 13-36.9%, Ni and/or Co 63-86.9% and at least one of Cu, Mo, W, V and Cr 0.1-8%. The alloy may be made by melting the required Cu and Al, successively introducing the remaining constituents whilst raising the temperature of the melt in an oxidizing atmosphere and stirring by electromagnetic induction. The alloy may be utilized for induction heating coils.
