Abstract
An alloy for treating ferrous metal melts (e.g. nodular graphite cast irons) comprises Rare earth metals over 15% up to 65% Si 12 up to less than 45% Ca up to 6% and up to 65% of one or more of the metals Fe, Ni and Cr. The carbon content in these alloys should preferably not exceed 0.05%.
