1,021,752. Apparatus for treating textiles. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORPORATION. Sept. 7, 1963 [Sept. 19,1962], No. 36576/63. Heading D1L. [Also in Division G2]. Apparatus incorporating means for distributing a processing liquid between a pair of sheets comprises a pair of pressure applying members each having a sheet engaging surface, one member being fixedly mounted at its ends and the other being urged towards the first by resilient means which apply a uniform force over its surface so that this surface remains parallel to the surface of the first member when the latter is deformed by liquid pressure. The resilient means may be coiled springs, a rubber or sponge pad, a bent metal strip with slits forming spring fingers, or, as shown, a slotted plate 56 which also forms the other pressure member 60, the one member being indicated at 52. The other pressure member is mounted on the resilient members and, except in the embodiment of Fig. 6 mounted at its ends so that it is movable towards or away from the one member. The liquid may be distributed from a collapsible container or from a nozzle. The one member may be a rotatable roller.
