Abstract

1,021,295. Automatic voltage regulation. COMPAGNIE GENERALE DE TRAVAUX D'ECLAIRAGE ET DE FORCE ANCIENS ETABLISSEMENTS CLEMANCON. Feb. 14, 1963 [Feb. 15, 1962], No. 6050/63. Heading G3X. An output voltage at terminals 8 is derived from a source 1 over a magnetic amplifier 4 having control windings a and b, an auto-transformer 6 and a filtering element 7, and is stabilized by the action of the control windings a and b which are connected in series so that their magnetic fields are in opposition and which are supplied from the source 1 over a transformer 2 and a rectifier 3. The voltage across winding a is stabilized by a Zener diode 5, so that any variation in the supply voltage affects the winding b only. The magnetic amplifier 4 is so designed that variations in the supply voltage which would normally affect its output are counteracted by the corresponding variations in the combined effect of the windings a and b, whereby the output voltage at terminals 8 is maintained constant.
