Abstract

[Also in Division B6] A re-sealable envelope, bag or container comprises a tubular body 2, having closure flaps 3, 4 at the respective ends of the tubular body, wherein the flap 4 is provided with a coating of remoisterable adhesive 7 and adapted on insertion of contents through an opening 8 to form a permanent closure. The other flap 3 is provided with a coating of pressure-sensitive adhesive 5 such as a film of a polymer-tackifier combination or a rubber-latex based adhesive to form a re-sealable closure with an impervious surface 6 formed or provided on said tubular body. In another embodiment the impervious surface 6 may be provided or formed on the flap 3 and the adhesive applied to the body 2. The surface 6 may comprise a film forming emulsion or solution, e.g. polyvinylidine chloride or may simply be the normal surface if the body is of suitable material.
