Abstract
102,055. Andreau, J. Oct. 30, 1915, [Convention date]. Projectiles.-Consists in making projectiles with their largest diameter at the front third of the length, the front part a ellipsoidal, and the rear part b ogival. The length of the projectile is from 3 to 6 calibres. Guide-vanes d may be provided at the rear end with rounded leading edges d<1> and reduced following edges d<2>. Or the projectile may be rotated by rifling directly, or by means of an enlargement at the part of largest diameter. An ordinary bullet may be transformed to the present shape by removing part of its rear end to make the ellipsoid contour, and part of its front end to make the ogival contour, and using this transformed bullet with the ellipsoid in front.
