Abstract

[Also in Division F2] A motor vehicle suspension comprises a leaf spring assembly secured to the vehicle at one end by a fixed horizontal pivot and passing at its other end through a guide member which allows sliding movement of the spring upon flexure and which is rotatable about a vertical axis. The rear end mounting of the spring may comprise a bracket 5 secured to the vehicle through flanges 5a and 5b and incorporating a guide member 6 mounted for rotational movement about a stud 7, the guide 6 being of generally inverted U-shape and having depending limbs having shaped surfaces coacting with complementary surfaces in the bracket to facilitate rotation, and having polyurethane coatings 10 to reduce friction with the spring.
