Abstract

1,019,981. Tobacco pipes. FALCON PIPES Ltd. Jan. 29, 1963 [Feb. 14, 1962], No. 5721/62. Heading A2M. A detachable pipe bowl assembly for a smoker's pipe having a bowl holder 1, comprises a bowl 7 for holding tobacco having an annular seating 11 adapted to make sealing contact with a rim on the bowl holder, an annular bottom cap 12 of stiff impervious material, the outer rim of the bottom cap being formed with screw threads 14 for securing the bowl assembly to the bowl holder, and a sleeve 16 extending through an opening in the bowl to hold the bottom cap against the bowl and carrying a flange 17 bearing on the upper margin 18 of the bowl opening. The free end of the sleeve 16 is threaded to engage corresponding threads in the inner rim 19 of the bottom cap 12. The bowl holder has a condensing plug 2 in a bowl receiving cavity, the condensing plug extending into the sleeve 16 to leave an annular smoke passage between the sleeve and the condensing plug. In an alternative embodiment the sleeve is integral with the bottom cap and the flange is formed by a ring nut threaded on to the sleeve.
