Abstract

1,018,496. Two-part couplings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Sept. 6, 1962, No. 34176/62. Heading H2E. A plug 15 comprises blades 1 with a cord 11 having conductors 10 connected to the blades 1 to form connections 6, and a moulded insulating inner body 13 surrounding connections 6 and any bared adjacent conductor with a moulded insulating outer body 25 at least partially surrounding the inner body, inner body 13 having an aperture between the connections 6 filled with a portion 27 of outer moulding 25. The moulding materials may be polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene or other suitable materials. The outer portion of blades 1 has a pair of aligned holes for engaging projections in a socket. In a modification, Fig. 6-8 (not shown), a three-pin plug with the pins at right-angles to the cable is made by a similar two-stage moulding process.
