1475987 Two-part couplings J S ROY 2 May 1974 [6 April 1973] 16725/73 Heading H2E A terminal member (e.g. a plug, as described, or a socket) comprises a two part rubber or plastics insulating casing 30, 3 held together by a securing ring (23, Fig. 9, not shown) engaging two halves 17, 20 of a conical cable-gripping flange, part 3 carrying contact elements 7 (live), 8 (earth), 9 (neutral), a fuse 13 and brass strips 10 connected to corresponding contact elements and carrying teeth 16 which pierce the insulation of and make electrical contact with wires (not shown) of the cable gripped between pairs of stops 37 on part 30 when the parts 30, 3 are brought together. Parts 30, 3 carry interfitting projections 31, 39 and recesses 4 (6, Fig. 8, not shown), and the ring 23 is retained either by studs (22) in grooves (21, Figs. 1 and 2 not shown) or by a screw thread (not shown).
