Abstract

1,018,213. Container closures. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. July 14, 1964 [Sept. 17, 1963], No. 36598/63. Heading B8T. A sealing wad for engagement with a screwthreaded cap, or a cap otherwise arranged for rotary interlocking engagement with a container neck, comprises a disc 1 of thermoplastic resilient material with a projection 4 frictionally fitting within an aperture of the cap. The wad has a rib 7 to sealingly contact the container rim, and it may have a flexible annulus of claw-like cross-section as described in Specification 788,148 within the rib periphery.
