Abstract
1,018,165. Magnet system for moving coil transducers. ROLA CELESTION Ltd. Nov. 3, 1964 [Nov. 25, 1963], No. 46484/63. Heading H4J. A magnet system for a moving coil loudspeaker or microphone comprises a tubular yoke 10 having the outer surface 12 of the voice coil gap formed at one end and a recessed seating for a closure disc 15 formed at the other, a permanent magnet 17 being located on the closure disc and provided with a pole tip 18 defining the inner surface 19 of the voice coil gap. The intermediate portion of the yoke is undercut at 11. The closure disc 15 may be fixed in the recess 14 by upsetting the metal around the recess or by spot welding and the magnet 17 and pole tip 18 may be retained by the non-magnetic ring member 22 which, during the fixing of disc 15, is deformed to clamp the pole tip 18 to the magnet 17 and the magnet to the disc 15 in their proper aligned positions. Alternatively, Fig. 2 (not shown), the disc 15 may be secured in the recess and the magnet, pole tip, and disc, secured together by a heat sensitive adhesive.
