Abstract

1,016,065. Blowing lances, liquid fuel burners. BRITISH IRON & STEEL RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. June 2, 1964 [April 25, 1963], No. 16303/63. Headings F4B and F4T. A lance, burner or probe 1 for insertion into a furnace is provided with an outer coating comprising one or more pipes 3, connected to supply and exhaust headers 2, 4 for cooling fluid, and a refractory cement 6 applied to the exterior of the pipes 3 to key with them. The pipes may be straight and extend between two semi-annular headers 15, 16 and an annular header 4, surrounding a burner, Fig. 2 (not shown). The burner comprises gas and oil conduits 11, 12 and a water jacket 13.
