Abstract

101,562. Baker, W. Jan. 17, 1916. Pneumatic. - Relates to dropdown air guns, and consists (1) in the provision, in either the joint face of the chamber or of the barrel, of a sliding spring- pressed bush for making an air-tight joint, and (2) in securing the rear end of the cocking-rod i in the slot l, Fig. 4, below the air chamber by a rotary catch k, so that the cocking-rod can be disconnected when it is desired to fold up the gun. The groove in which the bush is mounted does not communicate with the air chamber or with the barrel. In the construction shown in Fig. 2, the bush e is mounted in the end of the air chamber and is pressed outwards by a spring f to contact against the rear face of the barrel. The barrel is locked by a spring bolt h. In a modification, the bush itself forms the locking-bolt and is provided with suitable actuating-means.
