12,692. Birmingham Small Arms Co., and Norman, G. May 26. Pneumatic. - Consists in forming the sliding piston in the form of a chamber embracing the breech end of the barrel. The invention is shown in Fig. 1 applied to a pistol. The hollow piston 3 fits on the enlarged breech end 1<a> of the barrel, and is impelled forwards by a spring 6 acting on a shoulder 5 at its front end. The handle 14, Fig. 2, of the loading-plug 12 conforms to the outer diameter of the barrel when the plug is in its loaded position to allow the piston to slide over it, and recesses are formed in the outer casing 2 and in the hollow piston to allow the handle 14 to be reached when the weapon is cocked.
