Abstract

1,015,524. Delivering measured quantities of liquid. G. BAUKNECHT G.m.b.H. Sept. 25, 1964 [July 23, 1964], No. 39066/64. Heading B8N. A device for dispensing a measured quantity of cleansing liquid to e.g. a crockery washing machine, comprises a container 1 for the liquid and an electromagneticallyactuated valve member adapted, in one position, to communicate the container with the inlet to a measuring chamber 11 while the outlet therefrom is closed and, in another position, to open the outlet while the inlet is closed. The valve 4 is provided with closure members 7, 8 arranged to co-operate with seats 5, 6 respectively, formed on an extension 2 of the container; a flat 9 is formed on the valve and, together with a bore 3 constitutes a flow passage. A sleeve 10 is adjustably mounted on the extension 2 in order to vary the size of the measuring chamber 11. In operation, upon the energization of the electromagnet 18, the valve is lifted to the position shown in which liquid flows from the container into the chamber via passage 3 and an opening 19; when the electromagnet is de-energized the valve member moves downwardly under the action of a spring 17 so that the liquid is dispersed from the chamber.
