Abstract

1,015,242. Hydraulic torque converters. C. ROBSON. March 19, 1963 [April 5, 1962], No. 13141/62. Heading F2C. An hydraulic torque converter is provided with a series of tubes 21 in the turbine element 7 which operate to divert liquid from the working circuit outwardly into an integral rotating reservoir 16 at starting or under overload conditions, stationary scoop tubes 17 returning the liquid inwardly through ports 19 to the working circuit as the speed increases. In a second form, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), the reservoir 25 is integral with the impeller unit 5.
