Abstract

1,014,399. Electric steam irons. N. V. PHILIPS GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. April 17, 1964 [April 22, 1963], No.15996/64. Heading D1A. In an electric steam iron water is supplied to the water container enclosed within a hood 3 through a chamber 5 in the handle 2 containing a water softening cartridge 7, and a passage 6. A cover 4 is provided for the chamber 5 which is removal for charging and has a projection 11 engaging in a filling hole 14 in the cartridge. The end of the cartridge may be perforated at 13 so that water in the chamber 5, which may be equal in capacity to the water container, can flow therethrough.
