Channels in vertical-shaft bearings.-A vertical bearing for the spindles of cream-separators &c. is formed with two helical lubricating-grooves D, E which wind in opposite directions and are of different pitch. Both grooves tend to conduct oil to the middle portion of the bearing, with the result that the oil passes through the bearing more slowly than if one groove only were used.
