Abstract

1,009,725. Television pick-up tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Dec. 19, 1961 [Dec. 22, 1960], No. 45448/61. Heading H1D. In an image orthicon the image space is eddy current shielded from the adjacent turns of the line deflection coils 18, 20 at least, by segments 25, 26 of a non-magnetic ring. The segments may form a closed ring and may be arranged within the tube in which case, they are connected to an electron accelerating electrode. The ring may be made of copper or may be formed by locally thickening the conductive accelerating coating 11, e.g. by nickel or chromium plating.
