Abstract
1,219,447. Image pick-up tubes. L. D. AXENOVA. 6 July, 1968, No. 32376/68. Heading H1D. An image orthicon is provided with an electrode 7 at the same potential as the photocathode 2 and preferably formed integrally with it as a wall coating, the electrode 7 extending to the vicinity of a coaxial accelerating electrode 3. The resultant electric field (Fig. 2, not shown) makes the paths of photo-electrons (8) between the cathode 2 and the target 5 more nearly coincident with the lines of the magnetic focusing field (9) provided by the coil 6 and thereby reduces distortion.
