A glow discharge lamp 6 is connected to its supply through one or two resilient ballast resistors 11, 12, heads 7, 8 of a neon lamp 6 are held in grooves 9, 10 by the resistors 11, 12 which are composed of rubber or thermoplastic material containing carbon black and are engaged by leaf springs 14, 15 which extend from the output terminals 2 of a switch mounted in a casing 1. The leads 7, 8 and leaf contacts may be inserted into the ends of the resistors.
