Abstract

1,008,653. Valves. MADS CLAUSEN, [trading as FIRMA DANFOSS VED ING. M. CLAUSEN]. Nov. 27, 1961 [Nov. 25, 1960], No. 42387/61. Heading F2V. In a mixing valve provided with a housing 1 of the type having an inlet 2 and an outlet 3 and with two additional openings 10, 12 similarly dimensioned one to the other, one of the openings 10, 12 has a pipe inlet socket 20 inserted therein which provides a first valve seat 22 within the housing, the other opening being closed by a cover 9 through which extends a valve stem 8 carrying a closure member 7<SP>1</SP> which co-operates with the seat 22 and with a second seat 6 between the inlet 2 and outlet 3. Graduated extensions 23, 24 on the closure member engage the seat openings. The socket 20 and cover 9 are interchangeable in position on the housing 1 so that the valve opens from the seat 22 by inward movement of the stem instead of closing. The valve may be actuated by a thermal bellows carried in a casing fixed to the cover 9 by a locking screw and connected by tubing to a liquid or vapour filled thermal sensing element (Fig. 1, not shown).
