Ball bearings.-A ball bearing for the spindles of spinning and twisting machines is so constructed that the outer ball race can bo lifted off together with the spindle and whirl, the balls being retained by a cage in a grooved inner race. The outer race 12 is cylindrical for radial pressures and may also be shouldered as shown for end thrusts. The races are either separate rings 9, 12, or are integral with a stationary spindle 2 and the whirl 4 The bearing may have separate rows of balls for radial and end pressures.
