Abstract
1,007,136. Valves. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. Jan. 24, 1962 [Oct. 24, 1960], No. 36497/60. Heading F2V. A pressure relief valve, for use in a pit prop, comprises an inlet passage, an outlet passage 20 and a closure member 21 co-operating with a seat 18 between the inlet and outlet. The valve closure 21 is loaded to a closed position by fluid pressure in an enclosed chamber 19 which is subjected to an adjustable loading provided by a spring 23 acting on a piston 22. This loading can be adjusted by an arm 25 acting on a member 24 or by movement of a piston 29 in a cylinder part 28. The arm 25 may be replaced by a screwed bolt acting on the member 24.
