Abstract

1,003,557. Filters for liquids. H. TEVES, E. A. TEVES, and M. TAUSEND, [trading as TEVES MASCHINENUND ARMATURENFABRIK KOMM.-GES. ALFRED]. June 21, 1962 [Oct. 24, 1961], No. 23951/62. Heading BID. A cylindrical filter screen 4 is enclosed in a casing made of flexible material and designed as a corrugated spring 21 so that when excessive pressure is generated in the space 10 a shoulder 17 on the screen comes away from a sealing seat 19 on the filter head I, allowing liquid to flow unfiltered from inlet 9, through the screen interior, to outlet 14. In Fig. 4 (not shown), the screen is retained in position, until bypassing, by a spring of annular disc form ; in Fig. 5 (not shown) by an annular corrugated spring ; and in the remaining embodiments by a helical spring.
