[Also in Division H1] A light projector especially for use as a vehicle lamp comprises a trough-shaped reflector of circular, parabolic, hyperbolic or like cross-section and an incandescent planar ribbon filament in an axial plane passing through the transverse centre line of the surface parallel to the reflector, the opposite faces of the ribbon lying in the axial plane so that two like light beams are produced from the upper and lower halves of the reflector respectively. A shield may be provided on the side of the filament remote from the reflector to cut off direct light. The resulting light beams may be parallel or may overlap at a distance from the projector. The two halves of the reflector may be covered by colour filters. The lamp and reflector may be mounted in a rectangular housing or may form part of a sealed beam lamp. Fig. 1 shows the reflector 12 and a separate lamp 10 consisting of a tubular glass envelope 13 having metal end caps 14, 15 carrying support rods 16, 17 for the filament 18.
