A gyratory epicyclic reverse gear comprises an internally toothed planet 7 carried by the eccentric hub 6 of an input driving gear 5 and meshing a sun 8 keyed on an output shaft 1, the gear 5 being clutched to the output shape by a sliding face-dog clutch 3 for solid direct forward drive and the planet 7 being held from rotation for reduced reverse drive.
