Abstract

1,000,256. Frequency changing. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 13, 1962 [July 19, 1961], No. 26179/61. Heading H2F. A frequency changer for producing in a load phase a frequency F drived from a polyphase supply of frequency f 2 comprises switching means, which conduct in either direction and are connected between each end of the load phase and each supply line, arranged so that in each cycle the load phase is twice connected to each supply phase, once with each polarity, and the switching means operate at a frequency f 1 , where f 1 equals the difference between F and f 2 . Each switching means may be a bridge of diodes with a thyristor across its D.C. terminals (Fig. 2, not shown). Specification 926,099 is referred to.
