Description
The subject of the invention is a partly reusable RFID label support.
Its first constituent element is what is commonly called an “inlay” in Anglo-Saxon language, which is the assembly of an insulating support, an antenna and an electronic chip, which react to waves radio and transmit information remotely. This inlay is subsequently fixed on a flexible support, such as a paper label or on a rigid support, such as a token, a card, or other to form an RFID tag. Such RFID labels are thus used in particular to identify products offered for sale by means of RFID reading stations. When the products are foodstuffs, most often, these RFID labels are printed using specific printers, then are stuck directly on the packaging of the product to be identified. The RFID tag can then be used only once and thrown away with the packaging, which is costly to use.
Reusable labels, independent of the product on which they are initially attached, have thus been developed, such as that described in document CN202126696U. The RFID tag is affixed to the front surface of a reusable part, a rear surface thereof being removably attached to the surface of a fixing part. The fastening means described are loops and hooks arranged on the surfaces to be assembled, or an adhesive strip having a detachable surface, or buttons, or even T-shaped grooves arranged on the surface of the fixing part and shaped tabs of T cooperating with these grooves secured to the reusable part. Although the labels are reusable, the attachment methods are relatively complex to make and use. Additionally, only the surface of the reusable part can be used to apply the RFID tag and/or product information.
Additionally, most RFID tags are not microwave safe. Therefore, when they are affixed to food packaging intended to be microwaved, they must be able to be detached from this packaging.
The invention aims to provide a detachable and at least partly reusable RFID tag support which is simple to produce and use and which also facilitates the presentation of information.
A cet effet, l’invention a pour objet un support d’étiquette RFID, caractérisé en ce qu’il comprend :For this purpose, the subject of the invention is an RFID label support, characterized in that it comprises:
- un médaillon réutilisable en matériau polymère destiné à recevoir l’étiquette RFID et pourvu d’un élément d’accrochage,- a reusable medallion made of polymer material intended to receive the RFID tag and provided with a hanging element,
- une languette de fixation dont une extrémité définit un élément d’accrochage coopérant avec l’élément d’accrochage du médaillon, et présentant une face inférieure et une face supérieure opposées,- a fixing tab, one end of which defines a hooking element cooperating with the hooking element of the medallion, and having an opposite lower face and an upper face,
et dans lequel les éléments d’accrochage coopèrent de manière réversible et/ou dans lequel l’extrémité de la languette définissant l’élément d’accrochage est détachable.and in which the hooking elements cooperate in a reversible manner and/or in which the end of the tongue defining the hooking element is detachable.
Il est alors possible de réutiliser le médaillon et l’étiquette RFID.The fixing tab can be integrated into packaging or its lower face can be intended to be fixed to the product to be identified, for example via an adhesive portion or by application of glue. In all cases, the RFID tag support medallion is attached to the end of the tab defining the attachment element. In this way, the rest of the tab, in particular its upper face, is available, for example to receive information concerning the product. When the product is purchased, the medallion can be detached from the securing tab. The product can then be microwaved without risk regardless of the nature of the RFID tag used. Furthermore, the medallion can be recovered, the tab remaining at least partly fixed on the product or integrated into it. It is then possible to reuse the medallion and the RFID tag.
Thus, only the fixing tab of the support according to the invention is not reusable (or not systematically reusable), which makes it possible to reduce manufacturing costs.
In one embodiment, the hooking elements of the medallion and the fixing tab cooperate in a reversible manner. They can in particular be of the “male – female” type cooperating in a reversible manner. Alternatively, these can also be surfaces assembled together using a removable adhesive. In other words, the hooking elements can be detached from each other.
In another embodiment, the end of the tab defining the hooking element is detachable. In this case, the hooking elements of the medallion and the fixing tab can cooperate in a reversible or irreversible manner. When they cooperate irreversibly, they can then be surfaces assembled together, for example by gluing, one of these surfaces being for example covered for this purpose with a non-removable adhesive layer. The end of the tongue can be detached for example by tearing the material constituting the tongue, possibly facilitated by a pre-cut line and/or a line of thinner thickness.
The tab typically has the general shape of a strip having a small thickness and the length and width of which can be chosen, for example according to the quantity of information that one wishes to be able to reproduce on its upper face.
Advantageously, the fixing tab may have an adhesive layer extending over at least part of the surface of its lower face, preferably over the entire surface of the latter. This can make it easier to produce and affix to a product.
For better rigidity of the end of the fixing tab defining the hooking element, the latter can advantageously have a double thickness, in particular when the fixing tab is made of a sheet of material, in particular a sheet of paper . In particular, this double thickness of paper or other material can result from the folding of the end of the tab on itself, optionally held by gluing. This bonding can be carried out using glue or using an adhesive layer applied to at least one of the faces of the end of the tab.
The tab may optionally be a strip of polymer material of relatively thin thickness, for example cut from a sheet of polymer material, which may allow its reuse, for example when it is fixed, or integrated, into a reusable product or packaging.
Alternatively, the tab may be made of cardboard. This embodiment is particularly suitable for integrating the tab into packaging.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment, the fixing tab can be made of paper, which makes it possible to make the tab at lower cost in a durable material, or even to recycle it. It can then be obtained by simply cutting a sheet of paper. In particular, it is possible to use ordinary paper, for example with a weight of 90 g/m 2 , possibly a paper having an adhesive layer on one of its faces. The use of a paper securing tab further facilitates the printing of information on its upper side opposite the lower side.
Thus, the fixing tab can be made of a material, in particular a sheet of material, chosen from paper, cardboard or a polymer material, preferably made of paper or cardboard.
In one embodiment, the hooking element of the medallion can be an orifice passing through the medallion and the end of the fixing tab defining the hooking element can then have a zone of reduced size inserted through the orifice and, on each side of the orifice (in other words on each side of the zone of reduced dimension following the length of the fixing tab), an enlarged zone of dimension greater than a maximum dimension of the orifice of the medallion. We thus understand that the end of the tab is simply attached to the medallion through its orifice and can easily be removed by deforming/tearing off the enlarged parts of the tab. This makes it possible to make the tab and the medallion in an extremely simple manner, particularly when the tab is made of paper or cardboard.
To simplify the production, the orifice can be in the form of a slot, for example a rectilinear slot, having a length and a height. The orifice can advantageously be located near an edge of the medallion to facilitate suspension of the latter from the fixing tab.
The end of the fixing tab defining the hooking element can then advantageously have a thickness less than the height of the slot and a first width less than the maximum dimension of the slot at the level of the zone of reduced dimension and a second width greater than the maximum dimension of the slot at each enlarged zone. When the tongue is made in a sheet of material, for example paper, cardboard or polymer material, it is thus understood that the slot can be of low height, sufficient for the passage of one or two thicknesses of the sheet of material, the width of the slot which can be chosen according to the dimensions of the medallion and the dimensions desired for the fixing tab, provided that the diagonal of the slot has a dimension less than the width of each enlarged zone.
In another embodiment, the hanging element of the medallion can also be an orifice passing through the medallion near an edge thereof. The fixing tab can then pass through the orifice of the medallion and a part of its end defining the hooking element can be folded against the other part of its end and assembled thereto, for example by gluing or by interlocking. of male-female parts (for example a slot cooperating with a tab having an end larger than the dimensions of the slot), thus surrounding an edge of the orifice. The tab can then include a tear line making it easier to separate the tab and the medallion. Such a tear line can also be provided for the previous embodiment.
As with the previous embodiment, the orifice can advantageously have the shape of a slot, in particular a rectilinear slot, having a length and a height, the height of which can be low when the tongue is made in a sheet of material, especially paper or other.
Le médaillon peut alors être décroché en redéplaçant la tête de l’orifice vers l’extrémité élargie de celui-ci.In yet another embodiment, the hooking element of the medallion can be a finger having an enlarged head and the end of the fixing tab defining the hooking element can then have an orifice, an enlarged end of which has dimensions greater than or equal to the dimensions of the head of the finger, the rest of the orifice having dimensions less than the dimensions of the head of the finger and greater than or equal to the dimensions of the finger. It is thus understood that the head of the finger can be introduced through the orifice at the level of the enlarged end of the latter, then moved towards another part of the orifice of smaller dimensions. The medallion can then be removed by moving the head of the orifice back towards the enlarged end of it.
For a simple implementation, the finger can extend perpendicular to a surface of the medallion and the end of the fixing tab defining the hooking element can then be inclined relative to the rest of the fixing tab intended to be fixed to a product to be identified, for example by approximately 90°. We can then "suspend" the medallion along the product, the orifice of the fixing tab then being oriented so that its enlarged end is located above the rest of the orifice, gravity then favoring positioning with the finger at the part of the small orifice.
Elle pourra ici s’étendre depuis l’orifice de la languette jusqu’à un bord libre de celle-ci.To facilitate detachment of the medallion, as for the other embodiments, a tear line can also be provided. Here it can extend from the opening of the tongue to a free edge of it.
Generally speaking, in the different embodiments, the locking element of the medallion can advantageously be positioned near an edge of the medallion in order to facilitate holding the medallion on the fixing tab.
L’invention concerne également un ensemble formé du support d’étiquette RFID et de l’étiquette RFID.The invention also relates to an assembly formed of the RFID label support and the RFID label.
The invention also relates to a product equipped with an RFID label support according to the invention, in which the fixing tab is fixed to one face of the product, for example an upper face, by its lower face, the end of the fixing tab defining the hooking element being located near the product without being fixed to it. The medallion can then be suspended from the hanging element of the fixing tab and extend along the length of the product. The product may in particular be packaging, for example of the type having a lid, possibly reusable packaging. The tab can in particular be fixed to the cover. We can then consider reusing the packaging and the tab, particularly when it is not damaged when the medallion is removed.
Alternatively, it is advantageous to directly integrate the fixing tab into the packaging of a product to be identified if the material used allows it.
Thus, the invention also relates to packaging equipped with an RFID label support according to the invention, in which at least part of the fixing tab is integrated into the material forming the packaging, the end of the tab defining a hooking element being produced by cutting the material forming the packaging. The packaging can in particular be made of cardboard or of a polymer material (for example a polymer material of thickness similar to the usual thickness of cardboard). Advantageously, the end defining the hooking element of the fixing tab, or the hooking element alone, can be produced by cutting the material forming the packaging.
The invention is now described with reference to the appended, non-limiting drawings, in which:
The RFID label support 10 comprises a reusable medallion 12 intended to receive an RFID label 4 and a fixing tab 14.
The medallion 12 can receive an RFID tag on an external face or the RFID tag can be inserted inside the medallion, the latter having a housing receiving the label. Alternatively, the RFID tag can be integrated into the medallion during the molding of the latter (“in mold” technique in Anglo-Saxon language). The dimensions of a medallion 12 are thus chosen so as to allow the medallion to receive an RFID tag.
The medallion 12 is typically made of polymer material. For example, polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) or any other polymer, preferably a heat-resistant polymer, could be used.
The medallion 12 has the general shape of a plate of any shape, of relatively small thickness. For example, we could use a medallion with a thickness of 1 to 4mm. In the example shown, the medallion has a generally round shape with a tab 120 projecting from part of its edge. The invention is however not limited by this shape and any other round, square, oval, rectangular shape, etc. can be used. However, to facilitate handling, and possibly automatic sorting, an entirely round shape may be preferred.
The medallion 12 also has a hooking element 122, here an orifice in the form of a slot (see Figures 1 and 2). In the example shown, this slot 122 is made through the tab 120. The invention is however not limited to this position and the slot could be made in another location of the medallion, preferably near a edge of a medallion 12 in order to facilitate hanging of the medallion and its retention on the fixing tab.
The fixing tongue 14 has an end 140 defining a hooking element cooperating with the hooking element 122 of the medallion 12. This fixing tongue 14 also has a lower face 14a, and an opposite upper face 14b visible. The fixing tab can either be attached to the product to be identified by its underside, or be an integral part of a product, typically packaging. In the latter case, it came from the material of the packaging.
The invention is of course not limited by a particular shape of the end 140 of the fixing tab, provided that it can cooperate with the hooking element 122 of the medallion, namely an orifice here in the form of a slot, this cooperation being reversible as in the example shown in Figures 1 to 4. In this embodiment, the attachment of the medallion thus results from the cooperation of male type attachment elements (end 140 of the tongue) and female (slot 122 of the medallion).
Finally, the fixing tab can also be integrated into packaging. The end 140 is then cut from the material of the packaging and forms a tab secured to the rest of the packaging but free which can be used as previously described.
In this embodiment, the hooking element 222 is a finger having an enlarged head 223. This finger 222 extends here substantially perpendicular to the plane of the medallion 22. The end 240 of the fixing tongue 24 defining the hooking element here has an orifice 242 of which an enlarged end 243 has dimensions greater than or equal to the dimensions of the head of the finger, the rest of the orifice having dimensions less than the dimensions of the head of the finger and greater than or equal to the dimensions finger dimensions. In the example, the other end 244 of the orifice has a shape complementary to the shape of the finger for better retention of the medallion. The rest of the fixing tab 24 is similar to the fixing tab 14 of the previous embodiment. Generally speaking, this orifice 242 extends along the median longitudinal line D of the fixing tab and has a shape symmetrical with respect to this median line D. The invention is of course not limited by the shape of the orifice nor by that of the enlarged head of the finger, provided that the enlarged head of the finger can pass through part of the orifice then be moved along the orifice and be blocked in this orifice.
In this embodiment, the medallion 22 is also suspended from the fixing tab 24, but in this case, the end 240 of the fixing tab 24 is bent relative to the rest of the tab in order to extend substantially in the same plane as that of the medallion after hanging the latter. It will be noted that the medallion 22 is otherwise completely similar to the medallion 12 of the previous embodiment.
Note that the fixing tab can also be an integral part of a package, the orifice 242 then being cut directly into a wall of the package. In this case, either the rest of the end 240 of the tab remains attached to the packaging, or it is detached from it by cutting, facilitating the extraction of the medallion, in particular when a pre-cutting line 245 is provided.
In this embodiment, the medallion is identical to the medallion 12 described with reference to the embodiment of Figures 1 and 2. The same references designate the same elements. This embodiment only differs from the embodiment of Figures 1-4 in the shape of the end 340 of the fixing tab 34 used. This fixing tab 34 thus also comprises a lower face intended to be fixed to the product to be identified (possibly provided with an adhesive layer), and an opposite upper face 34b visible.
L’extrémité de la languette 340 est repliée sur elle-même et maintenue ici par collage et/ou par la couche adhésive éventuellement présente sur la face inférieure de la languette de fixation (face appliquée contre le produit 1’).In particular, the fixing tongue 34 here passes through the slot 122 of the medallion 12 and a part of its end 340 defining the hooking element is folded against the other part of its end and assembled thereto, thus surrounding a edge 121 of the slot 122. Thus, the end 340 of the fixing tongue 34 has a width less than or equal to the length of the slot 122. It is thus possible to produce the fixing tongue 34 very simply in the form of 'a simple rectangular strip. The end of the tab 340 is folded back on itself and held here by gluing and/or by the adhesive layer possibly present on the underside of the fixing tab (side applied against the product 1').
In order to allow the medallion to be detached, the tongue 34 has a tear line 341 located near the slot 122, near the end 340 or at the level thereof. This tear line can be a pre-cut line or a thinner line. We thus understand that this fixing tab 34 is not reusable.
As before, if the packaging and the material allow it, the tab 34 can be incorporated directly into the packaging of the product to be identified. In this case, the end 340 of the tab is cut out of the material of the packaging in order to allow its insertion through the slot 122 of the medallion.
In the different embodiments, the fixing tab can be made of ordinary paper, adhesive or not, and can therefore be printed using a conventional printer before being attached to the product to be identified. It can thus be produced in a particularly economical manner, particularly using recycled paper. It will be noted, however, that the invention can also be implemented by using another more expensive material to make the fixing tab, although this is not preferred, such as a sheet of polymer material or even cardboard, the latter having the advantage of also being recyclable.
Furthermore, the medallion serving as a support for the RFID label can be produced in an extremely simple manner, in particular for the embodiments of Figures 1-4 and 6. The medallions and/or the slots can in fact be produced by cutting laser of polymer material plates. Alternatively, the medallions can be made by casting.
The medallions can obviously receive direct printing or a classic communication label, for example specific to the brand using the product.
The RFID tags themselves can be printed, for example with instructions for recycling the medallion.
