Abstract

Display and sales package, especially for small articles, and method of manufacturing such a package, constituted essentially in the form of a book with a lip, made from a single piece and having two parts, one of which forms the container (1) and the other of which forms the lid (2), these parts being connected together by means of a spine (back) (3). The container (1) includes a receptacle (4) having four lateral walls and the lid (2) is equipped with an inner part (5) intended to receive a marking, the whole package being manufactured from a single blank of material which is cut out and equipped with folding lines imparted by grooving (scoring). <IMAGE>

Description

The present invention relates to the field of packaging, in particular for presentation and sale, and relates to packaging intended for this purpose.

The invention also relates to a method for producing such packaging.

Currently, the presentation and sale of certain articles, in particular small articles, in particular jewelry, are generally carried out by means of rigid packaging, most often made of synthetic material.

These known packages certainly meet the requirements of users very satisfactorily, in particular as regards the enhancement of the products and their possible protection against shocks, but have the drawback of requiring a large space for their storage. .

In addition, these packages being intended for single use, there is the problem of their elimination, all the more difficult to solve since they are not biodegradable.

To overcome this drawback, it has been proposed, for example in document DE-U-9003400, packaging boxes for multiple uses, in particular in the form of a book with a rim. In such a case, the packaging box is made from a single piece and has two substantially identical parts, one of which forms the container and the other the cover, these parts being connected together by a back.

However, each part has only one front face and two side faces, the rear face being common and formed by the back. The box thus obtained is held closed by a blocking system consisting of a cooperation of at least one slot provided on the cover and at least one tab provided on the container.

In addition, such a box does not have a receptacle closed on four sides, for the reception of an article, nor an internal surface sufficient to receive a large inscription concerning said article. In addition, in such a form, the box has a very fragile back part to crushing. The addition of a receptacle could be envisaged in order to improve the presentation and the holding of the article in the packaging, however such an addition would entail a complication of manufacture and, as a corollary, a significant increase in production costs. .

The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks.

Its purpose is, in fact, to present and sell packaging, in particular small articles, essentially consisting of a book with a rim, made from a single piece and having two parts, one of which forms the container and the other the cover, these parts being connected together by a back, the container comprising a receptacle with four side walls and the cover being provided with an internal part pressed against the internal surface of the cover intended to receive a marking , the entire package being made from a blank single material cut and provided with fold lines printed by grooving.

The invention also relates to a method of producing such a packaging, which essentially consists, firstly, of cutting by stamping from a sheet material a blank having all the constituent parts of the packaging and print, by simultaneous grooving between these parts, fold lines, then carry out the volume setting of the packaging from the blank thus stamped and grooved by a first series of folding and gluing of the constituent parts of the receptacle, comprising the four side walls, and of the cover, comprising the internal part (5) folded back against the internal face of the surface (2), in order to obtain a flat packaging, and then to carry out a final setting by mounting without gluing the entire packaging.

In accordance with the invention, and as shown more particularly in FIG. 1 of the accompanying drawings, the presentation and sales packaging, in particular of small articles, which essentially consists of a book with a rim, made from '' a single piece and having two parts, one of which forms the container 1 and the other the cover 2, these parts being connected together by a back 3, is characterized in that the container 1 comprises a receptacle 4 to four side walls and in that the cover 2 is provided with an internal part 5 intended to receive a marking, the entire package being produced from a single blank of cut material and provided with fold lines printed by grooving.

Such packaging is advantageously produced, firstly, as shown in FIGS. 2 to 14, by cutting by stamping from a sheet material, a blank having all the constituent parts of the packaging, followed by l printing, by simultaneous grooving between these parts, of the fold lines, then of the volume setting of the packaging from the blank thus stamped and grooved by a series of folding and gluing of the constituent parts of the receptacle and of the cover with a view to obtaining a flat packaging, and then of the final volume setting by assembly without gluing of the entire packaging.

For this purpose, the blank intended to form the packaging, obtained by cutting by stamping a sheet material, has, flat, a succession of individual surfaces of large dimensions 1, 2, 4 and 5 corresponding respectively, 1 and 4 to the container 1 and to the bottom of the receptacle 4, and 2 and 5 to the cover 2 and to its internal part 5, and interconnected. The surfaces 1 and 2 are connected by the back 3. The surfaces 1 and 4 are connected by two walls 6 and 7, with interposition between the surface 1 and the wall 6 of a longitudinal bonding strip 8 and, between the walls 6 and 7, a longitudinal separation strip 9. The surface 2 is connected to the surface 5 by two walls 11 and 12 with interposition between the surface 2 and the wall 11 of a longitudinal adhesive strip 10. The surface 4 is provided on the opposite side to the walls 6 and 7 of walls 7 'and 6' connected to each other by a separating strip 9 ', the wall 7' being connected by its other edge to the surface 4 and the wall 6 'having on its other edge a bonding tab 22. The surfaces 1 and 2 are further provided, at their transverse ends, respectively, the surface 1 with external 13 and internal walls 14, the walls 13 being connected to the surface 1 by adhesive strips. 15 and to the walls 14 by separation strips 16, the walls 14 being provided s, on the side opposite to the strip 16, a locking tab 17, and the surface 2 of external 18 and internal walls 19 connected together by their adjacent edges, the walls 18 being connected by their other edge to the surface 2 by means of a bonding strip 20 and the walls 19 being provided externally with a locking tab 21, these various elements having at their junction with the adjacent elements of the fold lines.

The surfaces 1 and 2, as well as the back 3, have an identical length. The bonding strips 8 and 10 connecting respectively to the walls 6 and 11 have oblique ends. The sides in connection with said walls 6 and 11 are of shorter length than that of surfaces 1 and 2. The wall 12 connected to wall 11 is of a length slightly shorter than the latter and has at each end a slight offset relative to at the ends of the wall 11, while the surface 5 has a length identical to that of the wall 12.

The wall 7 has a length less than that of the wall 6, and the separation strip 9, which projects on either side of the ends of the wall 7, has at its ends projecting elements 23 which, at the level of the junction with the wall 7, are extended by a notch 23 ′ penetrating into the strip 9 (Figures 2 and 4 detail C).

The wall 7 ′, which is connected to the wall 6 ′ by a strip 9 ′, has a length greater than said wall 6 ′ and the strip 9 ′ is identical to the strip 9. The adhesive tab 22 has a length that is considerably shorter to that of the wall 6 ′ and corresponding to the length of the surface 4, which is provided at its ends with two transverse cuts 24.

The walls 13 are connected to each end of the surface 1 by means of the adhesive strips 15, one end of which is in alignment with the first fold line of the back 3, while the other end extends obliquely in alignment with the ends of the adhesive strip 8. The corresponding end of the wall 13 extends in the longitudinal direction of the surface 1, while its opposite end has a rounded radius of substantially equal to that of the back 3 The wall 14 and the locking tab 17 are of equal length, but less than that of the wall 13 to which the wall 14 is connected by the strip 16 whose ends are oblique.

At the connection between the separation strip 16 and the wall 14, there is provided, at each end of the fold line, a notch 25 intended to cooperate with the projecting elements 23 of the strips 9 and 9 '(detail B , Figures 2 and 4).

In addition, the walls 6 and 7 'are provided at their ends with flaps 26 intended to cooperate with the walls 13 and the separation strips 16, in the packaging mounting position, the locking tabs 17 then pressing against the cutouts 24.

Each wall 18 is connected to one end of the surface 2 by a strip 20 similar to the strip 15 for connecting the wall 13 and has, on its side facing the back 3, a rounded radius corresponding to that of said back 3 and , at its opposite end, a hook-shaped part 27 connected by its beak to that of a corresponding hook-shaped part 27 secured to the corresponding end of the wall 19, the other end of which also has a rounded shape. The hook-shaped part 27, fixed to the wall 19, is cut at this junction, this cut 27 '' encroaching on the wall 19 and creating in this latter an edge, which, in the service position, cooperates with a slight projection 27 'from the ends of the wall 12. The locking tabs 21 extend, in the operating position, under the surface 5 forming the internal part of the cover 2 (detail A, FIGS. 2 and 3).

According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, the walls 18 and 19 are provided, in place of the parts 27, each with a tongue, the said tongues being connected together at the junction between the walls.

The packaging of the packaging according to the invention, from the aforementioned stamped blank, is advantageously carried out in two main stages, namely a stage of folding and gluing and a stage of assembly.

Folding and gluing can be carried out, in a known manner, in two successive passes in a machine folder-gluer, a first pass being made in the longitudinal direction, as shown more particularly in Figures 5 to 8, in order to fold and glue the strips 20 and the walls 18 and 19, as well as the gluing of the strips 15. The FIGS. 6 to 8 more particularly represent the sequence of operations carried out for folding and gluing the strips 20 and the walls 18 and 19.

A second passage is then carried out in a transverse direction, as shown in FIGS. 9 to 12, in order to fold and glue the strip 10 and the longitudinal edges of the receptacle 4 by gluing, first of all the strip 8, followed a folding, towards the side opposite the back 3, of the wall 6 at its junction with the strip 8, then a folding of the surface 4 along the edge of the wall 7 and a bonding of said surface 4 on surface 1, another folding then being carried out between the wall 7 ′ and the strip 9 ′ followed by gluing of the strip 22 inside the surface 4. These various operations are shown in the figures 10 to 12.

A package is thus obtained in the form of a flat box which can be set in volume by simple assembly, without gluing, either manually or by means of a machine. This assembly is carried out in two stages, according to an indifferent order.

The receptacle 4 is produced by straightening the rear walls 6 ', 7' and the front 6, 7, then folding inwards the flaps 26 of the walls 6 and 7 '. The side walls 13, 14 are then put in place in order to maintain the walls 6 ', 7' and 6, 7 by cooperation with the flaps 26 against which the walls 13 come to lock, the strips 16 being pressed against the upper edges of bands 9 and 9 '. The walls 14 are folded down to form the internal structure of the side walls, then are kept locked in a position parallel to the walls 13, by the locking tabs 17, which abut in the cutouts 24 of the surface 4 forming the bottom of the receptacle 4 (Figures 13 and 14).

The mounting of the cover 2 (FIG. 13) is carried out by a first folding of the hook-shaped parts 27 of 90 ° inwards, then by straightening of the wall assemblies 18, 19. Then, the wall 11 is straightened and the wall 12 is folded inwards with pressing against the wall 11 and imprisonment of the hooks 27, in order to keep the walls 18, 19 in a vertical position.

To allow the wall 12, and thus the surface 5, to be locked in position, the latter is provided on its two lateral edges with a locking slot 28 intended to cooperate with the corresponding edges of the locking tabs 21. Thus, by folding of the surface 5 against the internal face of the surface 2, the wall 12 is held against the wall 11 and the surface 5 remains pressed against the surface 2.

This support is reinforced by the locking of the projections 27 ', provided at the ends of the wall 12, against the cutout 27' '.

The assembly is then completed and the packaging can be closed by folding the cover 2 over the receptacle 4. For this purpose, the back 3, which is advantageously provided with multiple grooving, allows easy closing of the packaging. Maintaining the cover 2 on the receptacle 4 is obtained, in known manner, by means of a locking tab 29 provided in the wall 12 and cooperating with one or more slots provided in the wall 6. Such an embodiment allows repeated openings and closings.

The packaging according to the invention is described in connection with a box having a rounded connecting back between the receptacle 4 and the cover 2. However, the latter may also have another shape, the lateral parts of the walls then having a corresponding shape and the multiple grooving then being limited to the grooving necessary for the other shape.

According to another characteristic of the invention, and as shown in FIG. 17 of the accompanying drawings, the receptacle 4 may be provided with a sheet 31 of rolled paper, fabric or the like, intended to receive an impression, such as a brand or other. Such a sheet 31 improves the interior aesthetics of the packaging, for example to form a case.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the internal part 5 of the cover 2 is advantageously connected to the wall 12 in a detachable manner, the fold line between the wall 12 and the internal part 5 being in the form of a tear-off strip. Thus, part 5 can be, for example, in the form of a detachable card receiving an entry, namely, for example, in the form of a guarantee voucher.

Figures 15, 16 and 18 show an alternative embodiment of the invention, in which the receptacle 4 is provided with an adapter 32 in the form of an inverted container constituted by a flat stamped part provided with four foldable edges, this part can be provided in its central surface with two stamped holes 33 connected together by a slot of rounded shape 34 and in which can be placed an elastic or non-elastic holding device 35. Such an adapter 32 is more particularly intended to be applied by light pressure in the bottom of a package, to receive a small, slender or other object.

Thanks to the invention, it is possible to produce a packaging having a receptacle 4 with four side walls, as well as, in the cover 2, a surface intended to receive a marking or a printing. The four walls of the receptacle 4 make it possible to avoid the fragility of the dorsal part and to improve the aesthetics of the packaging, while the internal part 5 makes it possible to significantly improve the aesthetics of the interior of the cover 2, by masking the blocking structures of the lateral faces, as well as the internal face of the cover.

Such packaging can be made of any flexible and pliable material, namely cardboard or synthetic or other material.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown in the accompanying drawings. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without thereby departing from the scope of protection of the invention.

Claims (17)

1. Package for presentation and sale, particularly for small articles, created essentially in the form of a book having a flange, manufactured from a single component and having two portions, one of which forms a container [1] and the other of which forms a lid [2], with said portions being connected to one another by a spine [3], characterized by the fact that said container [1] includes a receptacle [4] having four lateral walls, and by the fact that said lid [2] is fitted with an internal portion [5] intended to receive a label or marking, with the entirety of said package being manufactured from a single blank of material which is cut out and which includes fold lines which are imprinted by means of grooving or rabbeting.
2. Package in accordance with Claim 1, characterized by the fact that said blank intended to form said package, as obtained by cutting out via stamping of a material in sheet form, has, when flat, a series of large individual surfaces [1] [2] [4] and [5], with said surfaces [1] and [4] corresponding respectively to said container [1] and to the bottom of said receptacle [4], and with said surfaces [2] and [5] corresponding to said lid [2] and to the internal portion thereof [5], and with, on the one hand, said surfaces [1] and [2] being connected to one another by said spine [3], and, on the other hand, with said surfaces [1] and [4] being connected by two walls [6] and [7], with the interposition between said surface [1] and said wall [6] of a longitudinal separation strip [8] and with the interposition between said walls [6] and [7] of a longitudinal separation strip [9], with said surface [2] being connected to said surface [5] by two walls [11] and [12], with the interposition between said surface [2] and said wall [11] of a longitudinal gluing strip [10], with said surface [4] being fitted, on the side opposite said walls [6] and [7], with [secondary] walls [7'] and [6'], connected to one another by means of a [secondary] separation strip [9'], with said wall [7'] being connected at its other edge to said surface [4], and with said wall [6'] having at its other edge a gluing tab [22], with said surfaces [1] and [2] furthermore being provided, at their transverse extremities, respectively, with said surface [1] of said external [13] and internal [14] walls, with said surface [1] being connected to said walls [13] by means of gluing strips [15] and to said walls [14] by means of separation strips [16], and with a locking tab [17], and with said surface [2] of external [18] and internal [19] walls being connected to one another by means of a gluing strip [20] and with said walls [19] being provided externally with a locking tab [21], with said various elements having fold lines at their point of junction with said neighboring elements.
3. Package, in accordance with either Claim 1 or Claim 2, characterized by the fact that said wall [12] connected to said wall [11] is slightly shorter than said latter wall [11], and has at each end a slight horizontal flexure with regard to the extremities of said wall [11], whereas said surface [5] is of a length which is identical to that of said wall [12].
4. Package, in accordance with any of claims 1 to 3, characterized by the fact that said wall [7] is shorter than said wall [6] and by the fact that said separation strip [9], which at both ends is longer than the ends of said wall [6] [SIC; the text has "wall [7]" here - Tr.], has at its ends outwardly extending elements [23] which, at the point of junction with said wall [7], are extended by means of a notch or kerf [23'] which penetrates into said strip [9].
5. Package, in accordance with any of claims 1 to 4, characterized by the fact that said wall [7'], which is connected to said wall [6'] by means of a strip [9'], is longer than said wall [6'], and by the fact that said strip [9'] is identical to said strip [9], with said gluing tab [22] being clearly shorter than said wall [6'] and corresponding to the length of said surface [4], which at its ends is fitted with two transverse cut-outs [24].
6. Package, in accordance with any of claims 1 to 5, characterized by the fact that said walls [13] are connected to each end of said surface [1] by means of gluing strips [15], of which one end is in alignment with said first fold line of said spine [3], whereas the other end extends obliquely into alignment with the ends of said gluing strip [8] of said wall [6], with the corresponding end of said wall [13] extending in the longitudinal direction of said surface [1], whereas its opposite end has a rounded portion whose radius is essentially equal to that of said spine [3], with said wall [14] and said locking tab [17] being of equal length, but are shorter than said wall [13] to which said wall [14] is connected by means of said strip [16], whose ends are oblique.
7. Package, in accordance with any of claims 1 to 6, characterized by the fact that, at the location of the join between said separation strip [16] and said wall [14], a notch or kerf [25], which is intended to cooperate with said outwardly extending elements [23] of said strips [9] and [9'], is provided at each end of said fold line.
8. Package, in accordance with any of claims 1 to 7, characterized by the fact that said walls [6] and [7'] are provided at their extremity with flaps [26] intended to cooperate with said walls [13] and with said separation strips [16] when said package is assembled, with said locking tabs [17] then pressing against said cut-out portions [24].
9. Package, in accordance with any of claims 1 to 8, characterized by the fact that each wall [18] is connected to one extremity of said surface [2] by means of a strip [20] which is analogous to said linking strip [15] of said wall [13] and which has, on its side oriented toward said spine [3], a rounded portion corresponding to that of said spine [3] and, at its opposite end, a hook-shaped portion [27] which is integral to said corresponding extremity of said wall [19], whose other extremity also has a rounded portion, with said hook-shaped portion [27] affixed to said wall [19] being cut out at said point of junction, with said cut-out [27''] encroaching on said wall [19] and creating in said wall an edge which, in its working position, cooperates with a slight outwardly extending portion [27'] of said ends of said wall [12], with said locking tabs [21] in their working position extending under said surface [5], thereby forming the internal portion of said lid [2].
10. Package, in accordance with Claim 9, characterized by the fact that said walls [18] and [19] are each provided, instead of with portions [27], with a tab, with said tabs being connected to one another at the point of junction of said walls.
11. Package, in accordance with any of claims 1 to 10, characterized by the fact that, in order to allow said wall [12] to be locked into position, and thereby to allow said surface [5] to be locked into position, said surface [5] is provided at both of its lateral edges with a locking slot [28] intended to cooperate with the corresponding edges of said locking tabs [21].
12. Package, in accordance with any of claims 1 to 3 or 6 to 9, characterized by the fact that said spine [3] is advantageous fitted with multiple longitudinal grooving.
13. Package, in accordance with any of claims 1, 2, or 5, characterized by the fact that said container [4] is provided with a sheet [31] of rolled paper, said sheet consisting of tissue-paper or some other type of paper, intended to receive printing, such as a trademark or some other mark.
14. Package, in accordance with any of claims 1 to 3, 9, and 11, characterized by the fact that said inner portion [5] of said lid [2] is advantageously connected to said wall [12], in a detachable manner, with the fold line between said wall [12] and said inner portion [5] being in the form of a removable strip, with said portion [5] being in the form of a detachable card which can carry an inscription, such as for example in the form of a guarantee coupon.
15. Package, in accordance with any of claims 1, 2, 5, and 13, characterized by the fact that said receptacle [4] is provided with an adapter [32] in the form of an inverted box formed by a stamped flat part provided with four foldable edges, with said part being capable of being fitted, at its central surface, with two stamped holes [33] which are connected to one another by means of a rounded slot [34] in which an elastic or non-elastic holding device [35] is placed.
16. Procedure for obtaining a package, in accordance with any of claims 1 to 15, characterized by the fact that said procedure consists essentially of first cutting out, by means of stamping of a material in sheet form, a blank having all of the constituent parts of said package, and then of printing fold lines, by means of grooving or rabbeting of said parts, and then of creating the volume for said package by means of said stamped and grooved or rabbeted blank, by means of a first series of folding and gluing of the constituent parts of said container and of said lid in order to obtain a flat package, and then creating the definitive volume by assembling the entire package without gluing.
17. Procedure in accordance with Claim 16, characterized by the fact that its creation of volume, starting from said stamped blank, is advantageously achieved in two main stages, namely, a stage consisting of folding and gluing, and an assembly stage, with said folds and gluing being achieved by means of two successive passes through a folding and gluing machine, with a first pass being achieved in the longitudinal direction and with a second pass being achieved in a transverse direction, with said assembly being achieved in two stages, in any order.
