Dispositif (M) d’operculage étanche de récipients (R) en matériau rigide tel que le verre, le grès ou la porcelaine, destiné à sceller un film d’operculage (F) sur un récipient (R) et son contenu, par exemple un produit alimentaire sous vide ou sous atmosphère modifiée, par formation d’un joint entre un bord de scellage du récipient (R) et le film d’operculage (F), le dispositif comprenant :- une cloche supérieure (21) et une cloche inférieure (23) mobiles l’une par rapport à l’autre entre une position d’ouverture permettant notamment le passage du film d’operculage (F) entre la cloche supérieure (21) et la cloche inférieure (23), et une position de fermeture dans laquelle la cloche supérieure (21, 21’) et la cloche inférieure (23,) délimitent par leurs faces internes une enceinte étanche,- une tête de scellage (3) montée dans la cloche supérieure (21) et comportant un bloc de chauffe (33) et un élément presseur chauffé par le bloc de chauffe (33),l’élément presseur (35, 37) présentant en fonctionnement une position de plaquage par l’élément presseur (35, 37) du film d’operculage (F) sur le bord de scellage d’un récipient (R) placé dans la cloche inférieure (23),l’élément presseur (35, 37) comportant une pièce déformable élastiquement (35),le dispositif (M) comportant une plaque de refroidissement (8) maintenue à une température inférieure à la température de l’élément presseur (35, 37) et adjacente à l’élément presseur (35, 37) en position de plaquage.
