Abstract

L’invention propose un procédé de réglage de la richesse dans un moteur à combustion interne équipé d’un catalyseur. La richesse est réglée par un premier régulateur en boucle fermée sur une consigne (Cλ) qui est corrigée en permanence par un deuxième régulateur en fonction des écarts entre une valeur de quantité d’oxygène (OS) calculée et une valeur de consigne de stock d’oxygène (OSc). Selon l’invention, ladite consigne (OSc) est définie, pour chaque valeur de débit des gaz (Qech) traversant le catalyseur et de température (Tcat) du catalyseur, à l’intérieur d’une plage comprise entre un seuil minimal et un seuil maximal de quantité d’oxygène (OSmin,OSmax), dont le dépassement correspond respectivement à un début de fuite de monoxyde de carbone ou d’oxydes d’azote. Ces dépassements sont mis en évidence par le fait que la tension (U’λ) d’une sonde à oxygène binaire aval du catalyseur bascule au-delà d’un seuil respectivement maximal et minimal de tension (U’max,U’min), fonction du débit et de la température de ladite sonde aval (T’λ). La régulation est assez rapide pour que la quantité d’oxygène stockée (OS) converge rapidement vers sa consigne (OSc). En cas d’atteinte d’un des seuils de tension due à des erreurs de calcul de quantité d’oxygène stockée (OS), la valeur calculée de la quantité d’oxygène stockée (OS) est réinitialisée sur la valeur de seuil de quantité d’oxygène correspondante.
