Procédé de préparation d'un catalyseur ou d'une masse de captation les étapes suivantes : - mise en contact d'un support poreux oxyde avec un sel métallique comprenant au moins un métal appartenant aux groupes VIB, VIIB, VIIIB, IB ou IIB dont la température de fusion dudit sel métallique est comprise entre 20 et 150°C pendant une durée comprise entre 5 minutes et 5 heures pour former un mélange solide, le rapport massique entre ledit sel métallique et ledit support poreux oxyde étant compris entre 0,1 et 1 ; - chauffage sous agitation du mélange solide à une température comprise entre la température du fusion dudit sel métallique et 200°C et pendant 5 minutes et 12 heures ; - calcination du solide obtenu à l'étape précédente à une température supérieure à 200°C et inférieure ou égale à 1100°C sous atmosphère inerte ou sous atmosphère contenant de l'oxygène.
