Heated massage device

The present invention relates to a massage device, of the type comprising: a grip handle; a massage roller, rotatable relative to the handle along a first axis of rotation; and an electric heater for the roll.

The invention is particularly applicable to heated massage devices. It is notably known from document WO200047078 to heat the massage roller of a device of the aforementioned type, then to apply it to a strip of depilatory wax previously placed on the skin of the user, in order to improve the effectiveness of said wax.

The above document describes a process in which the roller is first heated in contact with an external heating element, then applied to the wax. Such a process is tedious because the roller cools quickly in contact with the wax. It must then be replaced in contact with the external heating element before continuing its application.

The present invention aims to provide an improved heating massage device. To this end, the subject of the invention is a massage device of the aforementioned type, in which the electric heating device comprises a heating element housed inside the roller.

The heating element inside the roller allows continuous heating without interrupting the application on the skin of a user.

According to other advantageous aspects of the invention, the massage device comprises one or more of the following characteristics, taken in isolation or in any technically possible combination:

- The electric heating device further comprises an electric power supply member for the heating element, said power supply member being housed inside the grip handle;

- The roller and the handle respectively comprise first and second removable assembly elements, said first and second elements being able to cooperate for the removable assembly in rotation of said handle and said roller, said first and second assembly elements comprising first and second electrical connection means respectively between the heating element and the power supply member of said heating element;

- Each of the first and second electrical connection means respectively comprises a first and a second connection surfaces, said first and second surfaces having forms of revolution, complementary to one another;

- The handle comprises a main part extended by two arms curved towards one another, a free end of each of said arms being fixed to a second electrical connection means, said arms being flexible and configured so as to spread and bring said said apart second means of electrical connection with respect to each other;

- the grip handle extends along a second axis substantially perpendicular to the first axis of rotation;

the electric heating device comprises a cable for connection external to the grip handle, a first and a second end of said cable being respectively connected to the electrical supply member of the heating element and to a means of connection to a source. power supply;

- The electric heating device comprises an electric generator arranged in an internal cavity of the grip handle;

- the electric generator is an electric accumulator; and the massage device is equipped with means for charging said accumulator.

The invention also relates to an assembly for the cutaneous application of a fluid cosmetic composition, said assembly comprising a massage device as described above; and a fluid cosmetic composition.

The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of nonlimiting example and made with reference to the drawings in which:

- Figure 1 is a sectional view of an assembly comprising a massage device according to a first embodiment of the invention, in a first configuration;

Figures 1, 2 and 3 show massage devices 10, 110, 210, respectively according to a first, a second and a third embodiment of the invention. The massage devices 10, 110 and 210 will be described simultaneously below, the elements common to the three embodiments being designated by the same reference numbers.

The massage device 10, 110, 210 comprises: a grip handle 12, 112, 212; a massage roller 14; and a device 16, 116, 216 for electric heating of the massage roller 14. The roller 14 of the massage device 210 is not shown in FIG. 3.

The grip handle 12, 112, 212 has a main part 18, 118, 218 and two arms 20. In FIG. 3, the arms 20 of the grip handle 212 are not shown and the main part 218 is shown partially.

The main part 18, 118, 218 extends substantially along a first axis 22. A first end of said main part is extended by said two arms 20, which separate from one another along the first axis 22 then curve towards one another, in a plane comprising said first axis. Each arm 20 has a free end 24, the two free ends 24 being located at a distance from one another on a second axis 26. Preferably, the second axis 26 is substantially perpendicular to the first axis 22.

The grip handle 12, 112, 212 comprises an internal cavity 28, 128, 228, which extends inside the main part 18, 118, 218 and each of the two arms 20.

The grip handle 12, 112, 212 is made of an elastically deformable material, at least at the level of the arms 20. In particular, said arms 20 are flexible so as to allow the two free ends 24 l to be moved apart and brought closer together. one in relation to the other. Preferably, the grip handle 12, 112, 212 is made of thermoplastic polymer. Alternatively, the grip handle is made of metal or wood.

The massage roller 14 of the massage device 10, 110, 210 is shown in longitudinal section in FIG. 4. The massage roller 14 has an external surface 30, of shape substantially of revolution around a third axis 32.

The massage roller 14 also has a through internal cavity 36, extending along the third axis 32.

The massage roller 14 is preferably made of a material which is a good thermal conductor and / or which has good thermal inertia, for example of the stone or metal type.

The massage roller 14 is able to be removably assembled to the grip handle 12, 112, 212. In an assembled configuration, as shown in FIG. 1 for the massage device 10, the second 26 and third 32 axes are confused. FIG. 2 represents the massage device 110 with the grip handle 112 and the massage roller 14 in dissociated configuration.

The heating device 16, 116, 216 comprises a first part 40, integral with the roller 14, and a second part 42, 142, 242, integral with the grip handle 12, 112, 212.

The first part 40, visible in FIGS. 1 and 4, is housed in the through internal cavity 36 of the roller 14.

The first part 40 of the heating device 16, 116, 216 comprises at least one electric heating element 44, for example an electric resistance. In the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 4, the first part 40 comprises two electrical resistors 44, arranged opposite with respect to the third axis 32.

The first part 40 further comprises an electrically insulating rod 46, extending along the third axis 32 and serving as a support for the electrical resistors 44.

The first part 40 further comprises two electrically conductive studs 48. Each stud 48 is fixed to one end of the insulating rod 46 and electrically connected to one end of each of the electrical resistors 44.

A lateral surface of each stud 48 has a groove 50 receiving an O-ring 52.

Opposite the insulating rod 46, each stud 48 has a first assembly element 54. Said first assembly element 54 is intended for the mechanical connection of the roller 14 with the handle 12, 112, 212, as well as to the electrical connection of the first part 40 and the second part 42, 142, 242 of the heating device 16, 116, 216.

In the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 4, each first joining element 54 has substantially the shape of a concave surface. Said concave surface has in particular a form of revolution around the third axis 32.

Preferably, the first two assembly elements 54 are substantially identical.

Each pad 48 and each first assembly element 54 is formed from an electrically conductive material such as a metal.

In the embodiment of Figures 1 and 4, the first part 40 of the heating device further comprises two electrically insulating covers 58. Each cover 58 is inserted at one end of the through internal cavity 36 of the roller 14. Each cover 58 in particular comprises a cylindrical part 60 arranged around a stud 48, at the level of the groove 50. The covers 58 and the O-rings 52 provide watertightness of the through internal cavity 36 and of the electrical resistances 44. Preferably, the first part 40 further comprises an additional O-ring placed between each stud 48 and each corresponding cylindrical part 60.

The cylindrical part 60 also provides electrical insulation between the pad 48 and the roller 14, in particular in the case where the latter is made of metal.

Preferably, the first part 40 of the heating device further comprises a fluid 62 of the grease type, thermally conductive and electrically insulating. The fluid 62 fills the through internal cavity 36 of the roller 14 around the electrical resistors 44 and of the insulating rod 46. The thermally conductive fluid 62 optimizes the heat transfer between the resistors 44 and the roller 14.

The second part 42, 142, 242 of the heating device 16, 116, 216 comprises two second assembly elements 70, each of said second assembly elements being disposed at the free end 24 of one of the arms 20 of the handle 12, 112, 212. Each of the second assembly elements 70 is intended to cooperate with a first assembly element 54 for the mechanical connection of the roller 14 with the handle 12, 112, 212 and for the electrical connection of the first part 40 and the second part 42, 142, 242 of the heating device 16, 116, 216.

Each second connecting element 70 has the shape of a pin comprising an external surface 72, convex and of revolution. The external surface 72 is able to fit into the concave surface of a first assembly element 54. Preferably, the external surface 72 and the concave surface of the first assembly element 54 have a partial contact, so that minimize friction in rotation.

Preferably, the external surfaces 72 of the two second assembly elements 70 are substantially identical. The roller 14 can thus be assembled in both directions with the handle 12, 112, 212.

The second part 42, 142, 242 of the heating device further comprises a member 74, 174, 274 for supplying electrical power to the heating element 44.

The supply member 74, 174, 274 comprises in particular two conducting wires 76, extending in the internal cavity 28, 128, 228 of the grip handle, at the level of the arms 20. A first end of each of the conducting wires 76 is connected to one of the second assembly elements 70.

In the embodiment of FIG. 1, the heating device 16 further comprises an electric cable 80 connected to a second end of the conducting wires 76. The electric cable 80 extends outside the main part 18 of the handle gripping 12 from a second end of said main part, opposite the arms 20. The electric cable is equipped with means (not shown) for connection to a low voltage electric power source, of the USB plug type.

In the embodiments of Figures 2 and 3, the supply member 174, 174 comprises an electric generator 182, 282 disposed in the internal cavity 128, 228 of the gripping handle, at the main part 118, 218.

In the embodiment of FIG. 2, the electric generator 182 is an electric accumulator of the battery type and the power supply unit 174 further comprises a device 184 for connecting said electric accumulator to a source of electric energy. The device 184 is for example a USB port.

According to a variant not shown, the electric generator 182 is of the non-rechargeable battery type, which makes it possible to improve the liquid tightness of the handle 112, by eliminating the openings giving access to the internal cavity 128.

In the embodiment of FIG. 3, the electric generator 282 is an electric accumulator of the induction rechargeable battery type. The supply member 174 further comprises an induction coil 286 disposed at a second end of the main part 218 of the handle, opposite the arms 20. The induction coil 286 is able to cooperate with an external charger (not shown) for recharging the electric accumulator 282. Such an induction recharging system is notably known for devices of the electric toothbrush type, as described for example in document WO2015147054. This embodiment allows contactless recharging and good liquid tightness of the handle 212.

Preferably, the supply member 74, 174, 274 further comprises an electronic module (not shown) for regulating the electrical supply of the resistors 44. This electronic module comprises for example a system for regulating the heating temperature and / or a timer system. As an indication, a temperature of the external surface 30 of the roller is limited to 50 ° C by the electronic module.

Preferably, the supply member 74, 174, 274 further comprises a switch 188 (FIG. 2) enabling the electrical supply to the resistors 44 to be switched on and off.

Preferably, the massage device 10, 110, 210 is part of an assembly 90 for the cutaneous application of a fluid cosmetic composition 92 (FIG. 1). More preferably, said cosmetic composition has a viscosity which decreases when its temperature increases. It is, for example, a composition of the facial mask type based on wax.

A method of mounting the massage device 10, 110, 210 will now be described. It is considered that said massage device is in the dissociated configuration of FIG. 2. In order to assemble the grip handle 12, 112, 212 and the massage roller 14, a user assembles one of the second assembly elements 70 of said handle with one of the first assembly elements 54 of said roller. The user then exerts a mechanical force on the arms 20 of the handle in order to separate them from one another, in order to be able to assemble the other second assembly element 70 with the other first assembly element 54. L the force on the arms 20 is then released and the massage device 10, 110, 210 is in the assembled configuration of FIG. 1.

In said assembled configuration, the internal 56 and external 72 surfaces complementary to the assembly elements 54, 70 form a pivot connection between the handle 12, 112, 212 and the roller 14, around the second axis 26.

Preferably, a distance between the second assembly elements 70 along the second axis 26 is slightly greater in the assembled configuration than in the dissociated configuration. Thus, in the assembled configuration, the arms 20 exert a slight elastic compression on the roller 14, which improves the electrical contact between the internal 56 and external 72 surfaces.

Said electrical contact makes it possible to form a closed electrical circuit between the first part 40 and the second part 42, 142, 242 of the heating device 16, 116, 216, in particular by actuating the switch 188.

A method of using the massage device 10, 110, 210 will now be described. The switch 188 is actuated in order to supply the resistors 44 with electricity. The temperature of the external surface 30 of the roller increases. The roller 14 is then rolled against a surface 94 of the cosmetic composition 92. Said composition softens on contact with the hot roller; the external surface 30 is thus loaded with a fluid cosmetic composition.

The roller 14 is then applied to the skin of a user, for example to the face. The massage device 10, 110, 210 is moved so as to deposit cosmetic composition 92 on the user's skin, by rolling the roller. The contact of the hot external surface 30 on the skin also provides a massaging effect.

The cosmetic composition 92 then cools, preferably forming a film on the skin. As a variant, the cosmetic composition 92 penetrates into the epidermis, the penetration being improved by the heat of the roller 14.

As an alternative to the method of use described above, the cosmetic composition 92 is deposited manually on the skin, then the hot roller 14 is applied. The hot massage device 10, 110, 210 can also be used without cosmetic composition, to massage the face or another part of the body.

To clean the massage device 10,110,210, the grip handle 12, 112, 212 and the massage roller 14 are dissociated by a process reverse to the mounting method described above. If necessary, the tightness of the handle and the roller allows them to be cleaned with water without risk of short circuit.

Claims (10)

1Massage device (10, 110, 210) comprising: - a handle (12, 112, 212) for gripping; - a massage roller (14), rotatable relative to the handle along a first axis (26) of rotation; and - a device (16, 116, 216) for electric heating of the roller; the massage device being characterized in that the electric heating device (16, 116, 216) comprises a heating element (44) housed inside the roller. 2, - massage device according to claim 1, wherein the electric heating device (16, 116, 216) further comprises a member (74, 174, 274) for electrical supply of the heating element, said member d power being housed inside the grip handle. 3. - massage device according to claim 2, wherein the roller (14) and the handle (12) respectively comprise first (54) and second (70) removable assembly elements, said first and second elements being able to cooperate for the removable assembly in rotation of said handle and of said roller, said first and second assembly elements respectively comprising first (54) and second (72) means of electrical connection between the heating element (44) and the 'organ (74, 174, 274) for electrical supply of said heating element. 4, - massage device according to claim 3, wherein each of the first and second electrical connection means respectively comprises a first (54) and a second (72) connection surfaces, said first and second surfaces having forms of revolution , able to fit into each other. 5. - A massage device according to claim 3 or claim 4, wherein the handle comprises a main part (18, 118, 218) extended by two arms (20) curved towards one another, a free end ( 24) of each of said arms being fixed to a second electrical connection means (72), said arms being flexible and configured so as to separate and bring said second electrical connection means apart from one another. 6. - Massage device according to one of the preceding claims, in which the gripping handle (12, 112, 212) extends along a second axis (22) substantially perpendicular to the first axis of rotation. 7. - massage device (10) according to one of the preceding claims, in which the electric heating device (16) comprises a connection cable (80) external to the grip handle, a first and a second end of said cable being respectively connected to the electric power supply member (74) of the heating element and to a means of connection to an electric power source. 8. - massage device (110, 210) according to one of claims 1 to 6, in which the electric heating device (116, 216) comprises an electric generator (182, 282) disposed in an internal cavity (128, 228) of the grip handle. 9. - massage device (110, 210) according to claim 8, in which: - the electric generator is an electric accumulator (182, 282); and - The massage device is equipped with means (184, 286) for charging said accumulator. 10. - Set (90) for the cutaneous application of a fluid cosmetic composition, said set comprising: - a massage device (10, 110, 210) according to one of the preceding claims; and - a fluid cosmetic composition (92).
