Canopy structure equipped with an edge profile

The invention relates to the building field. More specifically, it relates to a removable canopy structure as well as a canopy including such a structure and one or more glazing panels mounted in this structure.

A glass structure is known comprising: at least two crosspieces, at least two T-section uprights intended to be fixed on the crosspieces to form a frame, each upright having a core and two wings which extend laterally projecting from of soul ; for each upright, a U-section glazing bead provided with a front wall, facing side walls which extend perpendicularly from the front wall, a pair of bottom walls which extend opposite the front wall from the side walls, this glazing bead being intended to come to fit frontally on the web of the upright, providing, between the wing of the upright and a bottom wall of the glazing bead, a reception space.

This modular structure is entirely satisfactory. It is designed to be mounted in an opening, generally made in a partition (load-bearing or not). Its architecture allows it to be assembled quickly and easily using common tools.

It is however expected that the opening has a closed contour, that is to say that the frame formed by the uprights and the crosspieces is covered on all sides by the edges of the opening. The frame is fixed to the periphery of the opening by means of screws which secure the crosspieces on, respectively, a lower edge and an upper edge of the opening.

But the need arose to mount this canopy structure in an opening which does not completely surround the structure.

In a first configuration, the opening is made in a partition but opens laterally on an edge thereof. This is the case, for example, when the opening leads into a passageway allowing people to access the volumes located on either side of the partition (eg a kitchen and a living room). This passage

TQD can also be fitted with a hinged or sliding door. In such a configuration, the mounting of the glass structure leaves, on the side of the passage, crosses them bare. The interior of the structure is exposed to the gaze (which poses an aesthetic problem), to dust, grease and moisture (which poses a pollution problem) and to shocks (which poses a problem of mechanical strength).

In a second configuration, the opening is itself a passage, delimited by two perpendicular faces, typically a wall and a floor. This is the case, for example, of the openings giving access to a shower. In such a configuration, fixing to the ground does not alone ensure the holding of the structure, and it is also desirable to fix it laterally to the wall - but the known canopy structure is not designed for this.

This shows that it is necessary to perfect the canopy structure to allow it to be mounted in openings with various configurations.

To this end, it is proposed, firstly, a canopy structure comprising:

at least two crosspieces, at least two T-section uprights intended to be fixed on the crosspieces to form a frame, each upright having a core and two wings which extend laterally projecting from the core; for each upright, a U-section glazing bead provided with a front wall, facing side walls which extend perpendicularly from the front wall, a pair of bottom walls which extend opposite the front wall from the side walls, this glazing bead being intended to come to fit frontally on the web of the upright, providing, between the wing of the upright and a bottom wall of the glazing bead, a reception space; and an edge profile intended to come to fit laterally on an upright, this edge profile including a finishing strip of rectangular section and a spacer which projects laterally from the strip to be accommodated in the reception space, this spacer comprising a fixing wall intended to come

TQD is applied against the web of the upright, and a support wall intended to be positioned opposite a bottom wall of the glazing bead.

The edge profile allows sometimes to ensure the finish of the structure when it is mounted in an opening opening laterally, sometimes to secure the structure to a wall, for example. when the canopy is intended to form a glass shower partition. Its assembly is practical and quick; it can be carried out using standard tools (screwdriver).

Various additional characteristics can be provided, alone or in combination. So :

the finishing strip may include an edge wall and a first flange and a second facing flange which extend at right angles from the edge wall;

the spacer includes e.g. a sidewall which is connected to the first rim being offset with respect to the latter so as to define a rebate complementary to a wing of the upright;

the spacer includes e.g. a veil which extends at right angles from the sidewall and at one end of which the support wall extends at angles;

the finishing strip may include a return which extends square from the second edge;

the fixing wall of the spacer advantageously has a chamfered edge;

the core of the upright is preferably pierced with a hole for the passage of a screw intended to come into helical engagement with the fixing wall of the edge profile to ensure the fixing of this on the upright;

the edge profile can be provided with a pilot hole drilled in the fixing wall for the helical grip with the fixing screw.

Furthermore, according to a preferred embodiment:

each upright is provided with a pair of grooves hollowed out on either side of the core, each glazing bead comprises a pair of elastic arms which extend internally from the bottom walls, each arm being provided at its end d 'a bead intended to snap into a groove.

It is proposed, secondly, a canopy comprising a structure as described above, and at least one glazed panel housed between the crosspieces and two uprights and whose edge is housed in a reception space while being immobilized there between a wing of the upright and a bottom wall of a glazing bead.

Other objects and advantages of the invention will emerge in the light of the description of an embodiment, given below with reference to the appended drawings in which:

In FIG. 1 and FIG. 5 is shown a canopy 1 which comprises, on the one hand, a structure 2, advantageously metallic, and, on the other hand, one or more glazing panel (s) 3 supported and maintained by structure 2.

The number of glazing panels 3 is indifferent. In the example of FIG.1, the canopy 1 comprises six panels 3, only one of which is visible for reasons of clarity of the drawing. In the example of FIG.5, the canopy 1 comprises two panels 3, only one of which is visible, also for reasons of clarity of the drawing.

In the example of FIG. 1, the canopy 1 is housed in an opening 4 made in a partition 5 separating two volumes (for example two rooms of a dwelling, such as a kitchen and a living room), this opening 4 opening laterally on an edge 6 of the partition 5. This edge 6 delimits, for example. a passage which connects the volumes separated by the partition 5. This passage can be provided with a door, which can be sliding or hinged. In this configuration, the opening 4 has at least one lower edge 7 and an upper edge 8. In the example illustrated, it also includes a lateral edge 9 (to the left of FIG. 1) against which the canopy 1 is applied.

In the example of FIG.5, the canopy 1 is housed in an opening 10 delimited laterally by a lateral edge 11 (this is for example a wall) and vertically by a lower edge 12 (it acts e.g. of soil). This configuration typically corresponds to a shower that the canopy 1 is intended to partition.

The structure 2 comprises, firstly, at least two crosspieces, namely a lower crosspiece 13, intended to be fixed (for example by means of screws) to the lower edge 7 (respectively 12) of the opening 4 (respectively 10), and an upper cross member 14, intended either to be fixed to an upper edge 8 of the opening 4 (in the configuration of FIG.1), or to remain free (in the configuration of FIG.5).

Each cross member 13, 14 is in the form of a U-shaped profile, preferably metallic, for example. steel or aluminum. Each cross member 13, 14 comprises a base 15 by which the cross member 13, 14 is intended to be fixed to the lower edge 7, 12 of the opening 4, 10, a side 16 which projects perpendicularly from the base 15, and a lug 17 facing the side 16 and which also projects perpendicularly from the base 15.

The structure 2 comprises, in the second place, at least two uprights 18 of T section intended to be fixed on the crosspieces 13, 14 to form a frame 19. When the canopy 1 comprises a single glazing panel 3, the structure 2 does not understands that a pair of uprights 18. In general, If we denote N the number of glass panels 3 of the canopy 1 (where N is an integer greater than or equal to 1), the structure 2 comprises a number N + 1 of amounts 18 (the

TQD uprights 18 of ends forming, with the crosspieces 13, 14, the frame 19 of the structure 2).

Each upright 18 is in the form of a preferably metallic profile, e.g. steel or aluminum.

Each upright 18, illustrated in section in particular in FIG. 3, comprises a core 20 and two wings 21, 22 which extend laterally projecting from the core 20, advantageously symmetrically on either side of this one.

According to a preferred embodiment illustrated in FIG.3, the core 20 is hollow and includes an interior housing 23. The wings 21, 22 are, for their part, advantageously full.

In the example illustrated in FIG. 3, each upright 18 is provided with a pair of grooves 24 hollowed out on either side of the core 20, the function of which will appear below.

The structure 2 comprises, thirdly, and for each upright 18, a glazing bead 25 with a U-shaped section intended to come to engage frontally (that is to say in the direction defined by the core in FIG. 3 ) on the core 20 of the amount 18.

The glazing bead 25 is provided with a front wall 26, facing lateral walls 27 which extend perpendicularly from the front wall 26, and a pair of bottom walls 28 which extend opposite the wall 26 front from the side walls 27.

According to a preferred embodiment illustrated in FIG.3 and FIG.4, the glazing bead 25 comprises a pair of elastic arms 29 which extend internally from the bottom walls 28. As can be seen in these figures, each arm 29 is provided, at its inner end, with a bead 30 intended to snap into a groove 24 to ensure the reversible mounting of the glazing bead 25 (which contributes to the reversibility for mounting the entire structure 2).

Once fitted on the upright 18, the glazing bead 25 household, between the core 20 of the upright 18 and one (or each) bottom wall 28 of the glazing bead 25, a space 31 for reception. On at least one side of the core 20 (and for example on both sides when the upright 18 is an intermediate upright), the space 31 for receiving is intended to accommodate a edge 32 of a glazing panel 3.

When the upright 18 is a lateral end upright of the structure 2, only a reception space 31 receives the edge 32 of a glazing

3, as illustrated on the left in FIG. 4. To ensure correct (and flexible) maintenance of the panel 3, the structure 2 includes elastic seals 33. In the example illustrated, the edge 32 is trapped between two seals 33, one of which is fixed to a bottom wall 28 of the glazing bead 25, and the other, opposite, on the wing 22 of the upright.

The structure 2 comprises, fourthly, an edge profile 34 intended to come to fit laterally on an upright 18 of lateral end.

This edge profile 34 is intended to ensure the finishing and / or fixing of the structure 2 on / in the opening 4, 10.

The edge profile 34 includes a finishing strip 35 of rectangular section and a spacer 36 which projects laterally from the strip 35 to be housed in a reception space 31 which opens at the lateral end of the structure 2 .

According to an embodiment illustrated in particular in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, the finishing strip 35 comprises a wall 37 of edge, which extends parallel to the core 20 of the upright 18, and two flanges which extend square from the edge wall 37, namely a first edge 38 and a second edge 39. In the example illustrated, the rectangle in which the finishing strip 35 is inscribed is long and narrow, the edges 38, 39 being of shorter length than that of the edge wall 37.

Furthermore, in the example illustrated in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, the finishing strip 35 includes a return 40 which extends at right angles from the second flange 39, towards the first flange 38. The length (measured in the section plane of FIG.3 and FIG.4) of this return 40 is advantageously less than that of the edge wall 37, so that the contour of the finishing strip 35 is open.

The spacer 36 comprises a fixing wall 41 intended to come to bear against the core 20 of the upright 18. As can be seen in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, the fixing wall 41 extends parallel to the edge wall 37 of the finishing strip 35 (and therefore parallel to the core 20 of the upright 18).

The spacer 36 also includes a support wall 42 which extends perpendicularly to the fixing wall 41 and is intended to be positioned opposite a bottom wall 28 of the glazing bead 25,

TQD in the reception space 31 which opens at the lateral end of structure 2.

According to a preferred embodiment, the spacer 36 includes a sidewall 43 from which the wall 41 for fixing extends square. In the example illustrated in FIG. 3 and FIG. 4, this flank 43 is connected to the first flange 38 of the finishing strip 35 while being offset relative to this first flange 38, so that it defines a rebate 44 complementary to a wing 21 of the upright 18.

The wall 41 for fixing the spacer 36 advantageously has an edge 45 internally chamfered, so as not to hinder the mounting of the glazing bead 25 (FIG.4).

Furthermore, as illustrated in FIG.3 and FIG.4, the spacer 36 preferably comprises a web 46 which extends at right angles from the sidewall 43 and at one end of which the wall 42 of support extends itself to the square.

The attachment of the edge profile 34 to the upright 18 is advantageously carried out by means of one or more screws 47, preferably self-drilling (s), which comprises (include) a head 48 (advantageously conical) and a threaded body 49.

To this end, and according to an embodiment illustrated in FIG. 3, the core 20 of the upright 18 of the lateral end is pierced with a hole 50 for the passage of a screw 47, intended to come into helical engagement with the wall 41 for fixing the edge profile 34 to secure the latter on the upright 18. The hole 50 has an internal diameter greater than the external diameter of the body 49 of the screw 47. According to an advantageous embodiment, the hole 50 has a conical recess 50A, complementary to the head 48 of the screw 47 to accommodate this flush.

For tightening the screw 47, the fixing wall 41 can be provided with a simple pointing mark opposite the hole 50 drilled in the core 20 of the upright 18. However, according to a preferred embodiment illustrated in FIG .3, the edge profile 34 is preferably provided, for the helical engagement with the fixing screw 47, with a pilot hole 51 drilled in the wall 41 for fixing (opposite the hole 50 drilled in the core 20 of the upright 18). This pilot hole 51 then has a diameter less than the overall diameter of the body 49 of the screw 47, so as to allow the thread to bite into the material of the wall 41

TQD fixing and thus ensuring the tightening thereof against the core 20 of the amount 18.

According to an embodiment illustrated in FIG. 5, the edge profile 34 intended to be fixed on a lateral edge 11 of the opening 10 (that is to say in this case on a wall) is advantageously provided with one or more hole (s) 52 drilled in the edge wall 37, for the passage of one (or more) screws 53 for fixing to the side edge 11.

The assembly of the structure 2 (and of the canopy 1) is carried out as follows.

We start by assembling the uprights 18 and the crosspieces 13, 14 to form a frame 19. This assembly is advantageously carried out by means of feet 54 threaded into the housing 23 at each end of an upright 18, and fixed by means of screws. both on the upright 18 and on the cross-member 13, 14. As illustrated in the medallion of detail in FIG. 1, each foot 54 is housed in a space delimited by the base 15, the side 16 and the tab 17.

In the example of FIG. 1, at least one edge profile 34 is then mounted on an upright 18 of the lateral end of the structure 2. To this end, the spacer 36 is fitted onto the wing 21 located on the outer side of the structure 2. The fixing wall 41 is applied against the core 20; the sidewall 43 against an internal face 55 of the wing 21; the rabbet 44 against an outer edge 56 of the wing 21. Then the edge profile 34 is fixed to the upright 18 by means of the screw (s) 47 which are (are) inserted in the hole (s) 50 and screwed (s) while being tightened (s) in the front holes ^) 51.

In this same example, the structure 2 thus partially assembled is then fixed in the opening 4, advantageously by means of screws (not shown) which ensure the fixing of the crosspieces 13, 14 to the lower 7 and upper 8 edges of the opening 4 .

The edge profile 34 provides the finish on one side of the structure 2. As illustrated in the detail of FIG. 1, the edge 6 of the partition 5 preferably has, with the end of the cross member 13 (or with the upright 18, which is flush with this end) an offset 57 whose value is equal to the thickness of the finishing strip 35.

The exploded configuration illustrated in FIG. 1, provided for purely illustrative purposes, is artificial because the edge profile 34 is in

Practical TQD integrated into the structure 2 even before it is fixed in the opening 4.

Then the panel (s) 3 is (are) mounted (s) on the structure 2 thus partially assembled, with interposition of seals 33 between the edges 32 and the uprights 18 or the crosspieces 13, 14. Shims (for example wooden briquettes) are preferably placed at the bottom of the lower cross member 13 to avoid glass-metal contact.

Then a horizontal glazing strip 58 is threaded onto each cross member 13, 14. More precisely, this horizontal glazing strip 58, substantially in the shape of an L, is snapped onto the tab 17. This horizontal glazing strip 58 preferably carries a seal intended to be applied flexibly against a glazing panel 3 in the vicinity of a horizontal edge thereof.

A glazing bead 25 is then fitted onto each upright 18 while being snapped onto the core 20. The arms 29 are elastically deformed by sliding against the core 20, until the beads 30 come to fit into the grooves 24, which ensures the reversible fixing of the glazing bead 25 on the upright 18.

As illustrated in FIG. 4, the glazing bead 25 advantageously carries a seal 33 which is applied flexibly against the glazing panel 3.

The edge profile 34 does not interfere in any way with the fitting of the glazing bead 25. The spacer 36 is substantially complementary to the space 31 for reception. The wall 41 for fixing the spacer 36 may extend beyond the bottom wall 28 of the glazing bead 25 towards the inside thereof, but the chamfer with which its edge 45 is provided prevents the two parts 25, 34 don't run into each other. The support wall 42 makes it possible to form a stop for the bottom wall 28 of the glazing bead 25 and thus avoid tilting of the latter by pivoting around its fastener (at the level of the beads 30) on the upright 18, to the benefit correct and rigid positioning of the glazing bead 25 relative to the upright 18.

The return 40 is positioned facing and in the vicinity (or even in contact) of a side wall 27 of the glazing bead 25. This return 40 contributes to maintaining the position of the edge profile 34 (and the glazing bead 25) relative amount 18.

Once assembled, the structure 2 has good mechanical rigidity, to which the edge profile 34 contributes, which gives the structure 2 a pleasant aesthetic and protection against pollutants (dust, humidity) by closing both visual and material inside the structure 2, by the lateral end of this.

In the example of FIG. 5, a profile 34 of the edge is fixed to the lateral edge of the opening 10, by means of one (or more) screws 53 which, passing through the hole (s) 52, just get caught in the side edge 11 of the opening 10, e.g. with an ankle inserted. This edge profile 34 is intended to ensure the lateral fixing of the entire canopy

Then the frame 19, fixed by the assembly of the uprights 18 and crosspieces 13, 14, is fixed to the edge profile 34, as previously described. The lower cross member 13 is preferably fixed (by means of screws) in the lower edge 12 (floor) of the opening 10.

If necessary, a second edge profile 34 of edge is fixed on an upright 18 of lateral end opposite to the wall, which ensures the finishing on the free lateral edge of the canopy 1.

The panel (s) 3 is (are) then mounted in the structure 2 thus partially assembled, with interposition of shims and seals 33, then the structure 2 (and therefore the canopy 1) is completed by fitting the glazing beads 25, 58 as described above.

It can be seen that the addition of one or more edge profile (s) 34 makes it possible to mount the canopy 1 in openings 4, 10 whose outline is open, whether it is a notched opening (FIG. 1) or a simple corner formed by a wall and a floor (FIG.5).

In the first case, the function of the edge profile 34 is aesthetic and of protecting the structure 2 against infiltration. In the second case, the function of the edge profile 34 is, with a slight adaptation (drilling holes 52), structural.

Claims (10)

1. Glass structure (2) comprising: at least two crosspieces (13, 14), at least two uprights (18) with T-section intended to be fixed on the crosspieces (13, 14) to form a frame (19) , each upright (18) having a core (20) and two wings (21, 22) which extend laterally projecting from the core (20); for each upright (18), a glazing bead (25) of U-section provided with a front wall (26), facing side walls (27) which extend perpendicularly from the front wall (26), d 'a pair of bottom walls (29) which extend opposite the front wall (26) from the side walls (27), this glazing bead (25) being intended to come to fit frontally on the core ( 20) of the upright (18), providing, between the wing (21) of the upright (18) and a wall (28) at the bottom of the glazing bead (25), a space (31) for reception; characterized in that it further comprises: an edge profile (34) intended to be fitted laterally on an upright (18), this edge profile (34) including a finishing strip (35) of rectangular section and a spacer (36) which projects laterally from the rod (35) to be accommodated in the reception space (31), this spacer (35) comprising a wall (41) for fixing intended to come to bear against the core (20) of the upright (18 ), and a support wall (42) intended to be positioned opposite a wall (28) at the bottom of the glazing bead (25). 2. Structure (2) according to claim 1, characterized in that the finishing strip (35) comprises a wall (37) of the edge and a first flange (38) and a second flange (39) facing each other, which s extend square to the edge wall (37). 3. Structure (2) according to claim 2, characterized in that the spacer (36) comprises a flank (43) which is connected to the first flange (38) being offset relative thereto so as to define a rebate (44) complementary to a wing (21) of the upright (18). 4. Structure (2) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the core (20) of the upright (18) is pierced with a hole (50) for the passage of a screw (47) intended to come into helical engagement with the wall (41) for fixing the edge profile (34) to ensure the fixing of the latter on the upright (18). 8. Structure (2) according to claim 7, characterized in that the profile (34) of the edge is provided with a pilot hole (51) drilled in the wall (4) for fixing the helical grip with the screw ( 47) of fixing. 9. Structure (2) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that: each upright (18) is provided with a pair of grooves (24) hollowed out on either side of the core (20), each glazing bead (25) comprises a pair of elastic arms (29) which extend internally from the bottom walls (28), each arm (29) being provided at its end with a bead (31) intended to be snapped into a groove (24). 10.
