Abstract

The plate (100) two compartments (102) separated by a set of ribs (104) i.e. hollow ribs, at interior of which another set of ribs of another plate is housed during stacking of the plates, where the former plate is in circular bowl shape. Top of each of the former set of ribs has a flattened part (106), where the former plate is formed from plant fibers e.g. sugarcane bagasse, and covered with a biodegradable plastic film. The biodegradable plastic film is made of oxo-biodegradable polyethylene.

Description

The present invention relates to a seafood platter. There are currently seafood trays that are made of polystyrene and are bulky when empty. In addition, such trays of seafood do not separate the different seafood from each other and are not biodegradable. An object of the present invention is to provide a seafood platter that does not have the drawbacks of the prior art. For this purpose, a seafood platter is provided in the form of a circular bowl and can be stacked on an identical seafood platter and having at least two compartments, two compartments being separated by a rib. Advantageously, each rib is in the form of a hollow rib inside which the rib of an identical lower plate is housed during a stack. Advantageously, the top of each rib has at least one portion which is flattened. Advantageously, the seafood platter is made of vegetable fibers and covered with a biodegradable plastic film. Advantageously, the plant fibers consist of sugar cane bagasse. Advantageously, the biodegradable plastic film is made of oxo-biodegradable polyethylene. The features of the invention mentioned above, as well as others, will appear more clearly on reading the following description of an exemplary embodiment, said description being made in relation to the accompanying drawings, among which: Fig. 1 shows a seafood platter according to the invention in plan view, FIG. 2 is a sectional view of the plate of FIG. 1 along line II-II, and FIG. 3 is a sectional view of the plate of FIG. 1 along the line 30. FIG. 1 shows a seafood platter 100. The tray 100 is made by molding vegetable fibers and preferably sugarcane bagasse, on which is sealed a biodegradable plastic film which makes it waterproof and which is preferably made of polyethylene oxo-biodegradable.

The plastic film is stuck on the layer of plant fibers, for example during a step of sealing the plastic film on the layer of plant fibers. The plate 100 takes the form of a circular bowl. The tray 100 comprises at least two compartments 102 (here there are 5 compartments) distributed in the bowl and separated from each other by ribs 104. FIG. 2 shows a section of the plate 100 which shows that the plate has a certain thickness and that the remains of the plate 100 are all oriented so as to allow the stacking of several trays 100 identical to one another. The stack is characterized by the fact that the height of several trays 100 is less than the sum of the heights of these trays 100. The stacking of the trays 100 on top of each other saves space when the trays 100 are not used. Fig. 3 shows a section of a rib 104. The rib 104 is in the form of a hollow rib inside which the rib 104 of the lower plate 100 is housed during stacking. Each rib 104 thus consists of two walls spaced from each other at the base of the rib 104 and which meet at the top of the rib 104. To strengthen the structure of the rib 104, the top of the rib presents at least one portion 106 which is flattened, while the remainder of the top of the rib 104 has a rounded profile. The compartments 102 are all identical in shape and the ribs are also all identical in shape and both are angularly distributed in a regular manner, so there is no privileged position during stacking. Of course, the present invention is not limited to the examples and embodiments described and shown, but it is capable of numerous variants accessible to those skilled in the art.
