Description

Description sommaire des figures et des dessins. TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention is in the field of materials used to collect runoff water at the bottom of a roof and relates to a roof of a roof. State of the prior art. Roofing vales are sealing elements installed at the bottom of two converging slopes in order to collect the rainwater and to evacuate it. Typically these roof flanges are generally in the form of a chute and have two suspension flanges to the frame elements of each of the two roof slopes. To date, there are two types of valleys, namely outward-facing suspension flange webs and inward-facing suspension flange webs. The valleys of the first type are intended to rest by their suspension flange on the frame elements of the two roof slopes and are generally attached to these elements by nailing the flanges. This type of valley presents the interest of a quick and easy assembly but as a corollary their disadvantage is due to the fact that eddies or lateral upwelling of water can form in the valley and reach the elements of the frame. This disadvantage is not found for the valleys whose edges turned inward thus oppose any rising water. On the other hand, this type of knot for attachment to the structural members requires suspension lugs establishing a mechanical connection between the edges of the valley and the two slopes of the roof. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The object of the present invention is to propose a roofing pit presenting the advantages of the known knots without presenting the disadvantages thereof. For this purpose, the valley of the roof according to the invention having two suspension flanges at the frame of two opposite roof slopes, is essentially characterized in that each flange is formed of a first wing oriented outwards and a second wing oriented inwards overflowing into the internal volume of the valley to form at this level an obstacle to the rise of water to the roof. The interest of this arrangement is multiple, on the one hand the outwardly facing wings allow a fixation of the valley without the use of suspension lugs, by simply nailing the valley and the inwardly facing wings oppose at the rising waters. According to another characteristic of the invention, each first wing is covered by the second associated wing. The interest of this arrangement lies in the double thickness formed by the recovery of the first wings by the seconds, this double thickness reinforcing the resistance of the rim tearing at the nailing. According to another characteristic of the invention, the first and second wings that comprise each flange are formed by folding. Alternatively, according to another characteristic of the invention, the second wing that comprises each flange is fixed on the first flange. This attachment, according to an exemplary embodiment will be performed by spot welding. Brief description of figures and drawings. Other advantages, aims and features of the invention will become apparent on reading the description of a preferred embodiment given by way of non-limiting example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which: FIG. cross-sectional view of the valley according to the invention - Figure 2 is a perspective view of a valley according to the invention - Figure 3 is a view of a valley according to the invention in situation. BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION As shown, the valley 1 according to the invention is in the form of a longiform chute 2 open at both ends having two longitudinal longitudinal edges defining a longitudinal upper opening. The valley according to the invention is preferably formed by folding a rectangular metal strip along several fold lines parallel to each other. Preferably, a steel strip will be used. After completion, the valley according to the invention will be protected from galvanic corrosion or by any other method known to those skilled in the art. As can be seen in the accompanying figures, the chute shape of the valley is provided with two longitudinal flanks 20 extending upwards and carrying at the upper end each a horizontal flange 3. More particularly, each longitudinal flank comprises an inclined portion extended upwardly by a vertical portion, the flange 3 being carried by this vertical portion. According to the preferred embodiment, each flange is formed of a first longitudinal horizontal flange 30 extending horizontally outwards and a second horizontal flange 31 coming to cover the previous one.

As can be seen, this wing 31 extends horizontally towards the vertical median plane P of symmetry of the valley and overflows into the internal volume of the chute shape. Thus with respect to the inner face of the corresponding flank 20, this wing forms a horizontal projection towards the vertical median plane P mentioned above.

Still according to the preferred embodiment, the first wing and the second wing are formed by folding the corresponding sidewall. Thus will first be formed a first horizontal fold facing outwards and a second horizontal fold facing inwards from covering the previous one. It may be noted that the portion of the rim projecting outwards has a double thickness of material. This part is intended to bear against a roof framing member and is intended to be fixed by nailing to this element. In Figure 3 is shown a valley roof placed on a frame member of a first roof T1 and on a frame member of a second roof T2. It can be seen that the valley by its two flanges 3 is placed on two cleats and is fixed to them by nails schematically represented by fine mixed lines. It is observed in this figure that the nailing is performed at the double thickness that each edge comprises. Such an arrangement is conducive to strengthening the resistance of each rim tearing at the fasteners by nailing. We have just described a valley made by folding a metal sheet, but it goes without saying that without departing from the scope of the present invention, any other type of suitable material may be used. As such may be used synthetic materials known per se. Similarly each flange may be formed of a first lower horizontal flange extending towards the vertical median plane and a second upper horizontal flange extending outwardly. Finally the second wing that has each rim may be an element attached to the first wing and fixed to the latter by spot welding or other fastening technique. It is understood that the present invention may receive any modifications and variations of the field of technical equivalents without departing from the scope of this patent.
