Abstract

WATERPROOF CLOTHING ARTICLE

  The present invention relates to an article of clothing and in particular a sports jacket or the like provided with means preventing the penetration from below, of foreign elements inside said jacket.

  Such jackets are especially designed for the practice of sport, such as skiing, snowboarding, etc. in an environment such as snow.

  When practicing sport in so-called powder snow, or in the event of a fall, it may happen that snow seeps inside the garment from below.

  To solve this problem, it has been proposed to provide these jackets with kinds of snow or waterproof skirts, preferably made of waterproof material, fixed inside the jacket.

  A skirt of this type is for example described in FR 2 773 439.

  It is fixed by its upper part inside the jacket, at a certain height above the lower edge thereof and generally substantially at the level of the size of a user.

  The lower part of such a skirt is provided with elastic means of tightening around the hips of the user.

  The skirt, once closed and tightened around the hips then constitutes a snow guard closing the lower opening of the jacket and preventing the penetration of snow inside thereof, in particular in the event of a fall.

  Such a skirt can also serve as a windbreaker, that is to say protection against other external and / or atmospheric elements.

  The disadvantage of these sports jackets with known sealing skirt is that the skirt follows the movements of the jacket and that its lower part tends to rise along the body of the user during use and practice. sports, especially when raising your arms.

  There follows a risk of leakage. Furthermore, the garment is less comfortable to wear because the skirt constitutes a permanent "presence" that the user feels moving on his body.

  The effect felt is particularly unpleasant when the tight part of the skirt rises to the waist, because it then tends to stay in place and the user must open his jacket to put the skirt back in place.

  Furthermore, the problem of sealing the ends of a garment also arises for other types of garment, and in particular for the ends of the sleeves of a jacket and the ends of the pants legs.

  The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks and to provide an improved sealing system for clothing, which is in particular safer and more comfortable to wear.

  Another object of the present invention is to provide a sealing system which can be used in other types of clothing. Sealing means here and throughout the text not only sealing or resistance or protection against the penetration of water, but also resistance or protection against the penetration of external elements, snow and / or towards the wind.

  This object is achieved in the article of clothing according to the invention which is of the type comprising at least one part covering a limb (arm, leg) or the trunk of a user, provided with a lower edge, by the that it comprises at least one annular skirt, provided with an upper end and a lower end and that the lower end of the skirt is fixed on the lower edge of the part of the article of clothing , and that the upper end of the skirt is provided with clamping means around the limb / trunk of the user.

  In fact, the skirt is mounted in reverse with respect to the known snow skirt, therefore in the event of movements of the user, it is the lower end of the skirt which will tend to go up, while the upper end, tightened around the trunk or limb of the user will not move and will remain tightly tight around said trunk or limb.

  As a result, the user incurs no risk of loss of tightness and the garment is more comfortable for him to wear since he does not feel the skirt moving along his body.

  According to a preferred embodiment, the upper end of the skirt is connected internally to the part of the article of clothing, at a predetermined distance from the lower edge, by at least one elastic suspension means.

  Thus, the skirt is kept in place even when the skirt is, for example, open.

  In any case, the invention will be better understood and other characteristics of the latter will be highlighted with the aid of the description which follows with reference to the appended schematic drawing, representing by way of nonlimiting examples several embodiments and in which: - Figure 1 is a perspective view of a jacket incorporating skirts according to the present invention, - Figure 2 is a detail view of the trunk skirt of Figure 1, - Figure 3 is a flat view of the interior of the trunk portion of the jacket of Figures 1 and - Figures 4 and 5 are schematic views illustrating the operation of the sealing skirts in the rest and active position.

  The jacket 1 illustrated in FIG. 1 comprises a part 10 covering the trunk and two parts 14, also called sleeves, covering the arms of a user.

  Each part 10, 14 is provided with a lower edge 1 1.

  The part 10 covering the trunk also includes a front opening 13 intended to facilitate the donning and removal of said jacket by the user.

  The front opening 13 is provided with closure means which may be a slide fastener 13a, as shown in FIG. 3, or any other means known per se.

  Each trunk part 10, handle 14, is provided with a skirt respectively 20, 30.

  The construction of the skirts 20, 30 will be described more particularly in conjunction with FIGS. 2 to 6 and the skirt 20.

  Each skirt 20, 30 is formed by a strip of flexible material of annular shape, comprising a lower end respectively 21, 31 and an upper end respectively 22, 32.

  The skirts 20, 30 can form a closed band, as is the case for example with skirts for a sleeve 30, or be provided with a vertical opening 23 as is the case with the skirt 20 for the trunk part 10. The opening 23 is closed by means 23a of the press button type or the like. Each skirt 20, 30 can be made of a waterproof material or at least 10 treated with water repellency or simply resistant to the penetration of air depending on the type of use desired.

  This material can also be, although not necessarily, more or less extensible depending on the desired effect.

  Each skirt 20, 30 is fixed by its lower end respectively 21, 31, to the lower edge 15 of the clothing part respectively 10, 14. The fixing is preferably carried out on the internal part of said clothing part and is carried out for example by means of seams, by gluing, etc ...

  Removable fastening means of button type, press studs can also be provided on condition of preserving the desired tightness.

  The upper end respectively 22, 32 of each skirt is provided with clamping means respectively around the waist or the arm of the user.

  These clamping means are preferably constituted by elastic means 22a, 32a such as elastic tape or son sewn or glued along said upper end 22, 32.

  Of course other clamping means, not necessarily elastic, could be provided for adaptation to the size / arm of the user.

  These elastic means are preferred insofar as they do not require adjustment.

  The upper end 22, 32 of each skirt 20, 30 is further connected to the interior of the jacket by elastic suspension straps, respectively 24, 34, hooking above said upper end.

  As shown particularly in Figure 3, the elastic suspension straps 24 are preferably housed inside the gussets 12 of the jacket.

  Likewise, gussets could be provided for housing the suspension straps 34 of the skirt 30.

  The elastic return force exerted by the suspension straps 24 is less than the elastic clamping force 35 exerted by the clamping means 22a, 32a.

  The operation of the skirts 20, 30 is illustrated more precisely in FIGS. 4 and 5.

  As shown in FIG. 4, in the rest position, the skirts 20, 30 form a sort of sealing or protective bell between the lower edge, respectively 11, 15 of the trunk part and of the sleeves and, their upper end , respectively 22, 32.

  They thus prevent any penetration of external elements, snow, water, wind, etc ... inside said parts of the trunk / sleeves of the jacket. Of course, the degree of tightness or resistance to the penetration of external elements will depend on the material constituting the skirt.

  In the event of movement of the user and for example lifting of the arms as shown in FIG. 5, the jacket 1 tends to go up, as does the trunk part 10, the sleeves 14 also having a tendency to slide along the arms.

  In this case, each upper end respectively 22, 32 of the skirts remains in place on the associated body part and only their lower ends respectively i1, 10 21 follow the movement of the jacket and go up along the body by making an effort to traction on the suspension straps 24, 34.

  As these ends 11, 21 are not in contact with the body of the user, the latter does not feel anything, moreover the sealing bell remains effective even if it deforms a little.

  Furthermore, as soon as the arms descend, the suspension straps 24, 34 return to their non-stretched state shown in FIG. 4 and exert on the jacket an effort of repositioning, so that the user does not need to readjust his clothing.

  It will be noted that the suspension straps could be eliminated in particular for the sleeves or when the skirt is not provided with opening means. They are mainly used to prevent the skirt from falling down under its own weight when it is open.

  Of course, the present invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiments, described above by way of nonlimiting examples, but on the contrary encompasses all similar or equivalent embodiments. It can be applied to any garment for which similar or equivalent problems have to be resolved and in particular protective clothing against rain, snow, wind, water sports clothing, etc.
