Abstract

The pallet (1) is fitted with a tray (2) having four sides and two lateral crosspieces (3) in which a folded container (4) rests. There is a part (6) which can be raised to enable the crosspieces to slide under the tray and be locked in order to receive the container.

Description

The invention presented relates to a device adaptable to a pallet of

  handling and allowing the constitution with the same rigid and reversible element of a container which can receive a container with short flaps folded back on itself or of a high belt surrounding the top of the container mounted in order to stiffen and increase it resistance.

  The suitable pallet includes an articulated or folding tray and a housing at each of its ends making it possible to receive and firmly hold the container or the lower flaps of the container without tools or accessories.

  More specifically, the invention relates to a rigid and reversible device which, secured to a suitable pallet, constitutes a container of low height serving for storage of a container folded back on itself. Removed from the pallet and placed on the top of the shaped container, the inverted container constitutes a high belt reinforcing the container and can receive, if necessary, a flat cover. After shipment, the container is emptied of its contents,

  the high belt deposited, turned over and repositioned on the pallet as a bin allowing the storage of the folded container in order to obtain a compact, rigid, stackable unit, transportable many times as a returnable packaging or shuttle box.

  The purpose of this application is to extend the claims of the

  French patent application n ° 02 14216 of November 14, 2002 by technical complements making it possible to bring an improvement to the reversible container by giving it an additional function of cover and, an additional device making it possible to improve the stacking performance of the container and to limit its weaknesses in terms of cuts

  practiced for example to obtain a flap loading panel. There are several systems making it possible to receive a folding container on a pallet and, for example, in a cardboard or other lid fixed upside down thereon and covered itself with another styling lid.

  This requires two elements, not necessarily rigid, tending to collapse

  during transport and storage thus limiting their duration of use. In addition, without a holding device integrated into the pallet, these covers are fixed by stapling or gluing to the pallet, which requires tear-off work when sorting the different materials before recycling.

  There is another system consisting of a pallet and two rigid molded plastic shells, nestable bottom and cover, suitcase-style, with, inside, a cardboard belt folded back on itself. This system is limited each time a new dimension is necessary because the tools have a very high cost and do not allow the large

  majority of users to make the investment.

  Another system consists in fixing with the aid of staples one or two cardboard plates, one with two lateral folds on the apron of a pallet so that they can be lifted vertically and then folded down on the lower flaps of a container to hold it in place.

  However, the fact that the two parts are folding does not allow the container to be held in a fixed housing for its prepositioning on the pallet in order to facilitate the positioning of the second flap under the cardboard holding plate, the two parts of which must be raised together which usually requires two people for this

surgery.

  The object of the present invention is to remedy the known drawbacks by proposing a rigid device having a bin function which can be stowed without accessories, with a single person, on a suitable pallet which can be easily manufactured and, by reversibility, be used as a belt.

  On the other hand, the innovation makes it possible to optimize the recycling operations of the various components of this pallet box which separate without unclogging or tearing or cutting and allows their sorting and classification

  by materials, which meets European directives in terms of recovery and limitation of the volume of packaging materials lost by the use of pallet boxes which, due to their technical and economic design, can make several trips or rotations.

  According to the invention, the rigid and reversible belt having the function of a container or a reinforcement belt is composed of at least four sides of variable dimensions, assembled together on edges in order to produce a frame with several sides, for example rectangular, on which at each end are fixed, flat, two crosspieces of variable size but the width of the frame. Each cross member is machined on its internal face so as to obtain a rebate which will have a slide function intended for the installation of a cover plate. In the case of a rigid plastic belt, it will be molded or injected or thermoformed. It can also be composed of two side angles connected between

  them by two longitudinal blades of any rigid material or composite bonded or welded in accordance with the invention and the above. More particularly and for economic reason, the rigid belt is made of sawn wood, plywood, molded wood or cellulose derivatives or in panels or very rigid cardboard, compact or not.

  The pallet intended to receive the rigid belt comprises on the upper boards a tray of material of the same family composed of a flat, fixed part, representing at least half of the interior surface of the bin and a hinged or foldable part laterally, foldable at 1800, covering the rest of the latter's interior surface. At each end of the pallet which can be of any material, the upper crosspieces or longitudinal members are set back to create a housing under the tray allowing the insertion of the crosspieces of the rigid container or the short flaps of a cardboard or other container material.

  The articulated part of the tray, folded down, firmly holds either the tray or the container on the pallet in the longitudinal direction. The reverse operations make it possible to free the tray or the container by raising the articulated part and unlocking by simple push the cross-members of the tray or the flaps of the container from the housing formed under the pallet tray.

  The complements to the invention relate firstly, to a device intended to allow the reversible container to become a cover by the addition of a foldable plate, cardboard or plastic or other provided with 4 lateral and 2 longitudinal upsets, characterized in what they allow to fold this plate to the interior dimensions of the bottom and sides of the tank so that it can be held in place by a few dots of glue

  on the inner longitudinal sides of the tank.

  Each corner of the plate has been cut so as to eliminate the part between its first lateral end upsets and the traces of the longitudinal upsets.

  The lateral sides of the plate o have been made two upsets on each side have been slotted lengthwise, in the trace of the longitudinal upsets, until the second side upsetting so that they can be lifted to allow the crosspieces from the bin to dock with the pallet without constraint and allow the articulated platform to pass

  By using the characteristics of the reversible container which has become a lid with rigid sides, another complement of the invention relates, secondly, to a device making it possible, by the addition of vertical reinforcements which can be hooked onto the container, to substantially increase its resistance to vertical compression. .

  The device comprises several rigid uprights, each fitted on one of the wide faces, with at least one attachment piece, for example nails with large heads which have been driven so as to leave a space between the face of the upright and the head of the nail. . This space is equal to the thickness of the material used to make the container used. The latter was provided during its manufacture with vertical incisions and perforations making it possible to receive the rods and wide heads of the attachment pieces at the locations provided for the positioning of the rigid uprights. These are presented in front of the incisions and perforations made on the container, the rods of the hanging pieces are inserted in the

  incisions up to the perforations which will allow the passage of the wide heads of these holding pieces which will be blocked by pulling them down with the wide heads pressed inside the container.

  These reinforcement amounts fixed on the large faces of the container, when the latter is not cubic, slightly exceed them at their

  lower parts and come to rest on the edge of the upper, longitudinal and overhanging blades of the pallet below its plate. The stacking reinforcement uprights then constitute lateral locking elements of the container.

  The length of the stacking reinforcement uprights is equal to the distance between the top of the upper, longitudinal and overhanging blades of the pallet and the underside of the rigid sides of the cover. These are supported on top of the stacking uprights which have a thickness equal to that of the sides of the cover. The resistance to vertical pressure is significantly improved due to the supports produced

  between the elements of rigid material constituting the sides of the cover and the stacking reinforcements.

  A strapping or adjoining lashing straps, extendable or not, can strengthen the system by maintaining the support of the cover on the vertical supports and pressing them against the faces of the container

  thus supporting the lateral locking of the container on its pallet.

  Another aspect of the invention makes it possible, thirdly, thanks to horizontal incisions made perpendicular to the base of the existing vertical incisions on the container, to move the stacking supports to the right or the left, the rods of the hooking parts of which can

  slide in these incisions to, for example, hide the cutouts of a loading flap and reinforce this part of the container weakened by these cutouts and susceptible to deformation to lateral thrusts and in fact, not secure in terms of flight and potential damage.

  More generally, the stacking uprights can also be positioned inside the containers, in the corners or against the vertical folds which have made it possible to fold the container back on itself. In this case their dimension is equal to the interior height of the containers and their cross section. The hanging pieces used, made of rigid material, have

  rods long enough in relation to the thickness of these stacking candles in case they are square or triangular.

  According to these characteristics, the invention allows industrial manufacture and, according to an exemplary embodiment and with reference to the accompanying drawings, a device conforming to the system comprises for a pallet box, according to Figure 1 page 1/7 a pallet (1) equipped with a container (2) consisting of four sides and two lateral crosspieces (3) in which rests a folded container (4). According to Figure 2 page 1/7, after removing the container from the tray, the cross members of the frame constituting the tray came out of the housings (5) and (5a) from the ends of the pallet by raising the articulated part (6) made on the pallet plate (7). On the deck of the pallet, blades or shims (9) in suitable numbers, nailed back, allowed to create the locations (5) and (5a) to block the tray (2) on the latter. According to Figure 3 page 2/7 after removing the container, the 20 short, lateral and lower flaps (10) of the container are positioned in the housings previously occupied by the cross members of the container, and held on the one hand in the fixed housing (5 bis) then on the other hand in the housing (5) covered by the articulated part of the pallet plate (6) According to Figure 4 page 2/7 the reversible container (2) is turned over to be positioned on the top of the container in order to belt it after the latter

  has been secured to the pallet and blocked longitudinally.

  According to Figure 5 page 3/7, we see that the inverted tray (2) perfectly encloses the top of the container by stiffening it. In the case of need to close the container and according to the same figure, a plate of any material (11) with or without tabs (15) is placed on the container or slid into the rebates (14) formed under the crosspieces (3) of the belt tray (2). In Figure 6 page 3/7, we note that the crossbars (3) of the rigid belt (2) constitute an essential support to limit the punching resulting from the support of the soles (16) of another stacked pallet box (17), which is another important element of

  innovation and avoids the use of counter-pallets whose purpose is identical, especially in dynamic situations.

  According to the technical additions made and according to Figure 7 page 4/7 we see a foldable plate (18) of any solid or perforated material 40 or mesh or other provided with four lateral upsets (19) (20) (21)

  According to the same figure, the four corners of the plate were cut between the first lateral upsets (19 and (22) and the traces of the longitudinal upsets (23) and (24). It can also be seen that the lateral flaps of the plate (27) and (28) can be lifted without difficulty in order to allow the positioning of the left cross-member (3) of the container in its fixed housing (5a), and the passage of the articulated plate (6) of the

  pallet tray across the bottom of the tank before being folded down on the right cross of the tank.

  According to Figure 9 page 4/7 we see that the repressed and notched plate (18) returns naturally to the flat in the tank (2) and the latter, as before, can receive a container folded back on itself

  (4) or possibly a panel box or the like.

  According to Figure 10 page 5/7 we notice that the reversible container (2) is turned over after installation of the container (4) on the pallet and then becomes a real closed lid thanks to the repressed plate (18) adjoining the container - cover, the two slide rails of which (3) now on the top of the rigid cover provide protection against punching during stacking. A complementary protective plate (11) or serving as a cover can always be inserted in the slides (14) of the crosspieces of the cover, especially if the constituent plate of the cover (18) is in

  anti-theft perforated or screened material (29).

  To make the system for fixing the stacking uprights to the container, we see Figure 1 1 page 5/7 an example of container (4) flat, cardboard or other foldable material of any shape and size on which incisions have been made. vertical (30) in variable quantity and of indefinite length at the top of the container. At the vertical of these incisions (30) and at the bottom of the container, identical incisions are made with a cut (31) in the upper part of the shape and of size slightly larger than the head of the attachment piece fixed to the amount of

stacking.

  The cuts and incisions made on the container allow the passage of a hooking piece (32) for example a large head nail (33) partially driven on a rigid support (34) so as to leave a space (35) of the thickness of the material constituting the container whose high and low incisions allow the rod (36) to

  the attachment piece to slide vertically and at its wide head, pressed against the internal face of the container to hold the stacking support in place without the wide retaining head being able to pass through the incision.

  In the same figure, we notice complementary incisions (37) perpendicular, and horizontal, at the base of the vertical incisions and adapted to let the rods of the hanging pieces pass so that the latter can be moved from left to right over any distance. so that the stacking supports can be moved laterally. According to the same figure, this container, as

  for example, has been provided with two vertical cutouts (42) and a horizontal delivery (43) constituting a loading flap which is common for containers of a certain height.

  In Figure 12 page 6/7 we see that the stacking reinforcements (34) fixed on two external faces of the container (10) folded back on itself, thanks to the

  incisions and cuts made do not hinder its storage in the tray (2) and constitutes a compact kit of simple use.

  It is also noted in this figure that the stacking reinforcements (34) have been cut in length so that when they are fixed in a functional position on the container, their bases protrude by a thickness equal to that of the tray of the pallet (7) the longitudinal discharge (38) of the flaps (10) of the container so that, when these are folded and housed on the pallet according to Figure 13 page 6/7, the stacking reinforcements rest on the overhanging edges (40 ) from the palette in order to

  create a lateral blocking of the container.

  According to the same figure, it can be seen that the stacking reinforcements (34) have been cut so that a distance equal to the height of the cover is reserved for the upper part of the container (41) so that this rigid cover (2) once set up rests on the stacking uprights whose widths can be any but of the same thickness as the

  rigid sides of the cover with its inner plate.

  On this same Figure, it can be seen that the hooking pieces of the right reinforcement upright (34) have been slid into the vertical incision (30) and cutout (31) while the left upright has been moved slightly to the right in the horizontal incisions (35) which places it

  in front of the left cutout (42) of the stacking flap. By moving the right upright (34) to the left, the right cutout (42) of the flap is hidden, thereby strengthening this weakened area.

  On Figure 14 page 7/7, we see a loaded container, on its pallet, with its reversible cover (2), its two lateral crosspieces (3) with slides (14), its repressed and notched plate (18), resting on the top of the container and supported on the stacking reinforcements. It can be seen that the cutouts of the loading flap are well protected by the

  stacking uprights and that the sides of the rigid cover hide the high incisions (30) of the attachment parts.

  It is also noted that the stacking reinforcements have made it possible to fix adjoining lashing straps (43) which will allow the container to be firmly strapped and to stack the stacking reinforcements against the faces of the latter without shearing the cover. X According to Figure 15 on page 7/7, we note that the pent-up plate (18) integrated into the reversible tank (2) does not hinder the installation of an additional protective plate (11) which will then be encircled by the straps

lashing or other means.

  A multifunction device of variable size and quality has therefore been produced according to the invention making it possible, with the same reversible element, to obtain on a suitable pallet: a longitudinally self-locking container capable of receiving a folded container, a reinforcement belt constituting stacking support, a cover and a sliding frame for a plate of

additional closure.

  The making of incisions and cuts on the container allows the attachment of rigid stacking uprights greatly improving the resistance to vertical compression, reinforcing a fragile area

  for example a loading flap and ensuring lateral support on the pallet of the container, the lower flaps of which are also blocked longitudinally under the tray of the latter. These uprights can optionally receive adjoining lashing straps or not.

Claims (4)

  1) Device for making according to Figure 8 page 4/7 with a rigid frame (2), two crosspieces (3), a pre-folded plate with cut and notched corners (18) fixed inside the frame, a container characterized in that that it is self-locking on a pallet (1) characterized in that it comprises two housings (5) including one fixed (5a) at its ends with width sides under its plate (7) with a lifting part (6), allowing to slide the crosspieces of this tray (2) under this tray, blocking them in order, according to Figure 9 page 4/7 to receive a container folded back on itself (4).
