Abstract

The vehicle, having a carrying platform (1) for its load, is fitted with a load retaining system in the form of cables (7) along the sides.  The present invention relates to a road transport vehicle, of the type comprising a loading platform intended to receive goods and a system for lateral retention of these goods on the platform.

 Transport vehicles are known which are equipped with retaining means of the drop side type, to hold the goods on the platform. However, these drop sides are generally impractical and must most often be hand-operated when they are not provided for stationary.

 The main object of the present invention is therefore to remedy these drawbacks and, to do this, it relates to a transport vehicle of the aforementioned type which is essentially characterized in that said restraint system is constituted, on each of the longitudinal sides of the tray, by two vertical arms connected at their upper end by a cable and arranged one at the front and the other at the rear, each of these arms comprising a fixed inner part and a movable upper part mounted in an articulated manner on the fixed part, so that it can fold outwards under the action of a jack.
