Abstract

The lifting mechanism consists of a fixed H-shaped base (10) which rests on the ground, with one pair of levers (16) at the head of the bed and another (18) at the foot connecting the base to the bed frame (3) to form a folding parallelogram operated by at least one gas power cylinder (20). The gas cylinders are positioned between the fixed base and the levers at the foot end, and their power is slightly lower than the weight of the bed and bed-clothes when in the lower position, increasing as it rises. Claims

- CLAIMS - 1.- Device for lifting a bed base with its bedding, in particular to facilitate the cleaning operations under said bed base or the operations of placing or replacing the bedding, which device consists of - a fixed base (10) resting on the floor, - two footboard links (18) and two headboard links (16), articulated on the fixed base (10) at one of their ends and the box spring frame (2) at their other end to constitute a structure in the form of a deformable parallelogram (1), and - means for operating said deformable parallelogram, characterized in that the means for operating the structure in the form of a deformable parallelogram (1) consist of at least gas spring (20) tending to separate the fixed base (10) from the bed frame (2), the power of said jack (20) and its positioning being adapted so that, when the bed base (2) is in low position seated on the ground, the lifting force exerted is slightly less than the weight of said bed base (2) with its bedding (6), and so that once said bed base (2) slightly raised, the lifting force exerted or greater than the weight of said bed base (2) with its bedding (6), means also being provided for limiting the lifting stroke of said bed base (2). 2.- Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the or the gas cylinders (20) are interposed between the fixed base (10) and the bed foot links (18) or a connecting element (19) of said rods (18). 3.- Device according to any one of claims 1 or 2, characterized in that it comprises at least one gas spring (20) which, in the position of maximum extraction of its rod (21), acts as a limiter stroke when the bed base (2) is raised, this stroke limitation being achieved before the footboard (18) and headboard (16) links reach a vertical position. 4.- Device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that it comprises a fixed base (10) whose width is less than that of the box spring frame (2), and connecting rods (16, 18) bayonet-shaped to allow their attachment to the side members (3) of the box frame (2). 5.- Device according to any one of claims 1 to characterized in that it comprises a fixed base (10) in general form consisting of at least one central spar (12) disposed parallel to the median longitudinal plane (13) of the bed base (2) and of two end crosspieces and 15) on which the bed end and head end links of (16, 18) are articulated. 6.- Device according to claim 5, characterized in that it comprises a fixed base (10) whose crosspieces (14, 15) arranged at the ends of the longitudinal member (s) (aux) are in the form of U outward-facing. - Device according to any one of claims 5 or 6, characterized in that it comprises a gas spring (20) interposed between the central beam (12) or one of the central beams of the fixed base (10) and a crosspiece (19) connecting the footboard link (18). - Device according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that it comprises means (24, 25) for adjusting the inclination of the or gas cylinders (20), in particular as a function of the possible weight variations of the box spring (2) with its bedding (6). 9.- Device according to any one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that it comprises means (26) in the form of a pedal for initiating the lifting movement of the bed. - Device according to claim 9, characterized in that it comprises a pedal in the form of a tilting lever (26) articulated around a horizontal axis (28) a support (27) integral with the fixed base (10), one ends (29) of said lever (26) constituting a support area for the foot of an operator, and its other end (30) being intended to come into contact with the underside of the box spring frame (2).
